  • *Job Summary**

As a Data Scientist on our Real-World Evidence (RWE) Research and Analysis team, you'll play a critical role in extracting valuable insights from complex data sets to inform business decisions and drive research initiatives. You'll work closely with our Clinical Trials team to design and execute studies, analyze data, and develop actionable recommendations to improve patient outcomes.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Mine crude data sets to extract normalized, analysis-ready patient data from in-house resources or authorized platforms, analyze and interpret results, and inform investigation procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate insights from genuine world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests
  • Clean, transform, and store data into a unified data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization
  • Perform data mining and statistical analysis to extract new insights from RWE/RWD regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes
  • Develop and maintain advanced data analysis and visualization tools to support research initiatives and business decisions
  • Work with stakeholders to design and execute results research studies, ensuring high-quality, comprehensive, and interpretable findings
  • Develop dashboards, analysis, and reports for internal and external use
  • Conduct regular quality evaluations of new true data suppliers and drive RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions
  • *Essential Capabilities**
  • 2+ years of experience with R, Python, or SQL programming languages
  • Proven experience in designing and executing powerful and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data
  • Strong knowledge of standard statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, regression and classification, decision trees, machine learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis
  • Experience handling large datasets from multiple sources
  • Familiarity with handling protected patient health information
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI visualization tools
  • *Preferred Capabilities**
  • Mastery of EMR/Health IT, disease libraries, and claims data sets
  • Familiarity with clinical data principles, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode)
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance rules for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)
  • Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and solutions
  • Familiarity with trial design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics
  • Understanding of machine learning and AI strategies, with a willingness to continue self-learning of technical and non-technical skills
