- *Job Responsibilities**
As a Data Scientist on our team, you'll be responsible for:
- Producing high-quality, standardized, and evaluation-ready patient cohorts from in-house data properties or certified systems, analyzing and interpreting results, and contributing to analytics strategy
- Partnering with other members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial group to provide actionable insights from real-world, medical, and other data assets to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests
- Cleaning, transforming, and storing data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team consumption
- Performing data mining and statistical analysis to investigate RWE/RWD to uncover new insights about patient populations and treatment outcomes
- Supporting the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to address medical questions from biopharmaceutical companies
- Collaborating on the design and execution of results reports research
- Ensuring high-quality, rigorous, and easily interpretable deliverables from RWE research and analyses
- Building dashboards, analytics, and reports for internal and external consumption
- Conducting due diligence on new real-world data companies and performing RWD quality tests to inform investment decisions
- *Essential Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree and a minimum of four years of experience in a quantitative or computational role
- Four years of experience in R, Python, or SQL
- Experience in designing and executing strong and reproducible statistical analyses within the context of epidemiology and observational studies with healthcare data
- Knowledge of common statistical testing methods, including generalized linear models, classification and discrimination, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis
- Experience processing large data from diverse data sources
- Experience handling protected patient health data
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other business intelligence tools
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Ph.D., Master's degree in statistics/biostatistics, computer science, mathematics, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field
- Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and claims databases
- Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and managed vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode)
- Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence research or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)
- Experience working with alternative data sources and alternative methods of healthcare data collection, particularly those enabled by technology systems and/or solutions
- Experience with experimental design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, computational statistics
- Understanding of data and systems learning techniques, ability to maintain self-learning of technical and non-technical skills
