  • *Key Responsibilities**

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to a wide range of customer telephone inquiries related to utility bills, service orders, connections, transfers, and emergency calls
  • Investigating and resolving billing accuracy issues, meter read discrepancies, and payment-related concerns
  • Processing customer move-ins, adds, and transfers, as well as refunds, compensation requests, and account changes
  • Routing escalated customer issues to resolution teams and making referrals for special programs, such as Energy Assistance and Dollar Energy
  • Initiating service orders, providing status updates, and assisting customers with credit/payment arrangements
  • Directing customers to self-service channels as needed and meeting individual deadlines, metrics, and team goals
  • Multi-tasking while prioritizing complex issues and working cooperatively with team members to achieve common objectives
  • *Essential Qualifications**
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of customer service experience
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Ability to type a minimum of 25 WPM (Word Per Minute)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must reside no more than 80 miles from a Columbia Gas facility (listed below)
  • *Preferred Qualifications**
  • 2-3 years of call center experience
  • 2-5 years of previous customer service work-from-home experience
  • Utility experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Ability to type 60-65 WPM
  • Bilingual candidates with Spanish language proficiency

To be eligible for this position, you must reside within 80 miles of one of the following Columbia Gas facilities:

  • Columbia Gas of Kentucky (2001 Mercer Road, Lexington, KY 40511)
  • Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania York Operating Center (1600 Colony Road, York, PA 17408)
  • Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, (100 Laurel View Drive, Smithfield, PA 15478)
  • *Work-from-Home Office Requirements**

As a remote Customer Service Representative, you will be required to:

  • Maintain high-speed wired internet access (75mpbs download and 15mpbs upload) that is hardwired (no Wi-Fi or satellite internet)
  • Work in a secure, private location with proper, ergonomic office equipment and setup
  • Have a smartphone to download a VPN app on your personal device
  • Be available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and attend 100% of the 13-week training program

The salary range for this position is $33,400.00 - $46,800.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
