About This Role

As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will serve as a quantitative expert and strategic advisor to partners throughout the organization. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between data and decision-making, weaving compelling narratives from complex datasets to drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities

Quantitative Analysis: Conduct in-depth data analysis to develop business and product recommendations, including cost-benefit analysis, investment strategies, forecasting, and impact assessment. You will transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.

Stakeholder Communication: Deliver compelling presentations of findings and recommendations to various levels of leadership and stakeholders. Create visually engaging presentations of quantitative information that effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Reporting and Dashboard Development: Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and model dashboards to provide insights at scale. Design solutions that address analytical requirements while maintaining scalability and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their business needs, design and execute analyses that include data gathering, investigation, ongoing scaled predictions, and presentations. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and operations.

Strategic Decision Support: Help arenaflex focus on key decisions to improve products and services. Provide analytical foundations for strategic initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the organization through data-driven insights.

Data Pipeline Management: Work with large datasets and ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility. Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data collection and processing workflows.

Experiment Design: Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments to evaluate product changes and feature implementations. Provide statistical guidance to ensure robust and reliable results.

Essential Qualifications

Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences, or a related discipline. Strong academic performance in quantitative coursework is essential.

Statistical Software Experience: Hands-on experience working with statistical packages and programming languages such as R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, or Python. Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language is required.

Data Manipulation and Analysis: Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets using SQL, and applying statistical methods to derive meaningful answers. Strong proficiency in query writing and data extraction is required.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate analysis results into clear business recommendations. Demonstrated capacity to connect technical findings to business outcomes.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analytical findings to diverse audiences. Strong business judgment and the ability to provide strategic recommendations.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to approach ambiguous problems with structure and methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

Academic Status: Currently enrolled in a part-time or full-time graduate program in the United States and available to work full-time during periods beyond college term time. Candidates in their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of an internship are preferred.

Business Acumen: Ability to translate investigation results into actionable business suggestions. Understanding of how analytical insights connect to organizational strategy and objectives.

Technical Depth: Interest and capacity to work with data, statistics, analysis, and trends with applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and techniques is a plus.

Domain Knowledge: Experience or interest in technology products and services. Understanding of user behavior, product metrics, and digital analytics is advantageous.

Technical Versatility: Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms is beneficial.

Skills and Competencies

Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series forecasting, and experimental design.

Data Visualization: Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Ability to create intuitive dashboards and reports.

SQL and Database Management: Strong SQL skills for complex data extraction and manipulation. Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.

Programming Skills: Familiarity with at least one programming language for data analysis (R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB).

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively across functional teams and with external partners.
