Position Overview

As a Remote Customer Support Specialist with arenaflex, you will serve as the frontline expert helping our tax software users navigate the complexities of tax preparation. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in using our tax preparation software effectively. This includes guiding users through software navigation, helping customers locate and retrieve prior year returns and amendments, and providing clear, accurate solutions to technical inquiries. Key Responsibilities

  • Phone Support with Video Chat Capability: Handle inbound customer calls with professionalism and empathy, utilizing video chat functionality when appropriate to provide visual demonstrations and enhanced support. You'll be the voice and face of arenaflex, representing our commitment to exceptional service.

  • Chat Support: Provide timely, accurate responses through our traditional chat support channel, ensuring customers receive quick solutions to their inquiries while maintaining a friendly and professional tone.

  • Software Navigation Assistance: Guide customers through the tax preparation process, helping them understand features, locate tools, and complete their filings with confidence. Your technical expertise will be crucial in breaking down complex processes into manageable steps.

  • Return and Amendment Retrieval: Assist customers in locating and accessing their prior year returns and amendments, ensuring they have the documentation needed for accurate filing in the current tax year.

  • Escalation Management: Identify situations that require escalation to specialized support teams, documenting issues thoroughly and ensuring seamless handoffs that maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Product Knowledge: Stay current with software updates, new features, and tax law changes to provide accurate, up-to-date information to customers.

Compensation and Earnings Potential

  • Competitive Base Rate: Earn up to $19 per hour, plus performance incentives.

  • Peak Season Bonuses: During the critical tax period (April 8-15), earn additional hourly premiums:

    • April 8-11: $3/hour extra for 12+ hours, $4/hour extra for 16+ hours, $5/hour extra for 20+ hours

    • April 12-14: $5/hour extra for 20+ hours

    • April 15 (Tax Day): $10/hour extra for 5+ hours



  • Performance-Based Earnings: Contractors who meet or exceed key metrics typically earn $16-$19/hour during peak times and $15.60-$17.50/hour during non-peak periods.

  • Guaranteed Minimum: You'll receive a minimum of 45 minutes of pay for each hour you're available during your scheduled shift.

  • Peak Rate Period: Enhanced rates apply January through April, providing increased earning potential during the busiest season.

  • Webcam (a webcam will be provided to you for the duration of the contract)

Schedule Information

This seasonal contract position offers exceptional flexibility to accommodate your availability:


  • Contract Duration: January through April 15, 2025

  • Available Hours: Schedule shifts between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM CST, seven days a week

  • Flexibility: Full control over your schedule—choose weekday, weekend, or combination shifts that fit your life

  • Minimum Availability: You can commit to as little or as many hours as you'd like, with the flexibility to increase your availability during peak periods
