Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic pharmacy team in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation of $26 per hour with comprehensive benefits package. As a Clinical Pharmacist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care, medication therapy management, and clinical healthcare services that make a real impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Experience & Engagement



  • Welcome and engage patients with warm, professional interactions that create a positive healthcare experience

  • Address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly to ensure complete satisfaction

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, including friendly greetings, positive body language, and genuine empathy

  • Proactively anticipate patient needs and offer additional health services that enhance their wellbeing

  • Promote awareness of healthcare services available through arenaflex, including patient consultations, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and clinical services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing

  • Participate in community events and outreach programs as directed by pharmacy leadership

Pharmacy Operations & Medication Management



  • Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, explaining proper usage, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and patient privacy considerations

  • Offer guidance on generic alternatives and cost-effective medication options

  • Perform essential pharmacist duties including prescription compounding, medication therapy reviews, verification, and comprehensive medication management

  • Accurately interpret and dispense prescribed medications in accordance with state and federal regulations

  • Ensure strict compliance with all federal and state controlled substance laws, following the Good Faith Dispensing policy

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of pharmacy software systems, including workflow management, prescription processing, billing, clinical documentation, inventory management, and point-of-sale operations

  • Identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency and productivity

  • Process insurance claims accurately to prevent payment rejections and resolve patient billing issues

  • Communicate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions, dosages, refills, and interactions

  • Recommend alternative medications when necessary and respond to clinical provider inquiries

Clinical & Health Services



  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations in accordance with state regulations

  • Conduct diagnostic testing and health screenings

  • Provide disease state management services and chronic disease education

  • Deliver additional clinical health services as needed by the community

  • Support the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance metrics including financial data, customer service metrics, and policy compliance

  • Contribute to asset protection and inventory management initiatives

Community & Professional Relationships



  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare providers, physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals

  • Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services and improve community health outcomes

  • Collaborate with centralized support teams for patient enrollment, exception resolution, and issue escalation

  • In virtual environments, conduct virtual product reviews following specific company procedures and guidelines

Leadership & Team Development



  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in staff recruitment, hiring, and training processes

  • Establish performance expectations and monitor team performance

  • Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and mentorship to promote colleague development

  • Foster a collaborative team environment and motivate colleagues through recognition and shared vision

  • Ensure smooth opening and closing operations and manage shift change responsibilities

Continuing Education & Professional Growth



  • Maintain current knowledge of all required licensing, credentials, and certifications as mandated by federal and state regulations

  • Stay current with pharmacy and healthcare industry developments by reviewing professional journals and publications

  • Pursue ongoing professional development and best practices to enhance performance

  • Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and complete required training modules

  • Actively seek feedback and use it for continuous improvement

  • Communicate relevant corporate health and wellness information to pharmacy staff

Essential Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited educational institution

  • Current, active pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas

  • Demonstrated experience in prescription dispensing activities with strong knowledge of state and federal controlled substance regulations

  • Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting

  • Experience with prescription filling, verification, and clinical documentation

  • Experience with insurance claims processing and third-party billing
