We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Big Data Engineer – Live Chat Customer Solutions to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you will work closely with utility teams to define, build, and capture comprehensive business needs while growing your expertise in Voice of the Customer (VOC) methodologies. What You'll Do

As a Big Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in shaping how we understand and serve our customers. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Collaborating with Utility Teams: Work closely with cross-functional utility teams to define, body, and capture commercial enterprise needs, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.

  • Voice of the Customer (VOC) Integration: Grow your expertise in Voice of the Customer methodologies and leverage these insights to transform data within our cornerstone big data platform, enabling deeper customer understanding.

  • Data Architecture Development: Design and build robust records model architecture to support optimal statistics processing and standardized metric definitions across the organization.

  • Big Data Solution Engineering: Develop big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python to deliver innovative solutions.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure information quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use case levels, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.

  • Performance Optimization: Offer pointers to enhance competencies and drive efficiency in computing programs using the massive data ecosystem.

  • Consumer Tale Analysis: Power consumer tale analysis and elaboration, design and development of software programs, and explore and build automation tools.

  • Process Automation: Proactively identify and automate manual obligations to improve quality and efficiency across data operations.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with colleagues from various departments to prioritize, define, increase, and test the data for various use cases as part of the comprehensive VOC end-to-end technique.

  • Live Chat Support: Provide exceptional live chat customer service, addressing inquiries with professionalism and accuracy while maintaining data integrity.

Required Skills and Competencies

To thrive in this role, you will need a combination of technical expertise and interpersonal skills:


  • Hands-On Development Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on development experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, Shell Scripting languages, along with development launch management and troubleshooting understanding for data-driven projects.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Active collaboration with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.

  • Agile Methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies of delivery, with the ability to work in small increments of product development introduced at regular intervals to business groups.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Typing Proficiency: Excellent typing speed and accuracy for live chat interactions and documentation purposes.

  • Multitasking Abilities: Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Technical Versatility: Proficiency in using computer applications and navigating online systems with ease.

  • Shift Flexibility: Flexible availability to work varying shifts as needed to support our global customer base.
