This exciting opportunity is within our Information Technology group, specifically as part of the Data Engineering and Analytics team. You'll bring your data engineering, collaboration, and analytical skills to help grow a data-driven culture by designing and delivering analytics solutions and making data analysis easier and more effective for arenaflex.

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer in our IT Analytics division, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. This position is part of our Technology group and offers the chance to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while making a significant impact on our organization's data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with source data application teams and product owners to design, implement, and support analytics solutions that provide insights to make better decisions
• Implement data migration and data engineering solutions using Azure products and services: Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Center, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Databricks, and other cloud-based data tools
• Perform various aspects connected to the development lifecycle - design, cloud engineering (Infrastructure, networking, security, and governance), ingestion, deployment, data modeling, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, solutions, usage, BI, alerting, and production support
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently
• Be part of a DevOps team that completely owns and supports their product
• Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies
• Drives improvement of coding standards, best practices, and protection and security guidelines
• Coach others on technical and domain skills to create multi-functional teams
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for critical data systems
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives

All You'll Need for Success

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Experience: 3 years programming solution development using agile, DevOps, working in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
• Data Analysis: 3 years data analysis experience using SQL
• Cloud Experience: 2 years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Power BI
• Technical Skills: Combination of Development, Operations, and Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms required

Required Technical Proficiency:

• Scripting: Python, Spark, Unix, SQL


• Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake


• Azure Data Explorer: Network skills a plus


• Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Azure Functions


• CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform


• BI Investigation Tools: Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana


• Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica


• Data Governance and Security: Informatica Axon and EDC, BigID

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years programming solution development using agile, DevOps, product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
• 5+ years data analysis experience using SQL
• 3+ years full-stack development experience, preferably in Azure
• 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience (preferably Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, ADX, ASA, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps, and Power BI
• Aviation Industry Experience

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

• Proficiency with the Azure Technology stack for data management, data ingestion, capture, processing, curation, and creating utilization layers


• Proficiency in providing functional direction within the Azure Native cloud services


• Azure Development Track Certification (preferred)


• Spark Certification (preferred)


• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
