Position Overview
As a Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our guests and travel advisors. This position is primarily customer service oriented rather than sales-focused, though there are opportunities to earn additional commission through upselling and value-added services.
You'll handle inbound and outbound communications via phone, email, and chat, serving as the primary point of contact for service-related inquiries. Your goal will be to process reservations accurately, handle revisions and cancellations professionally, and ensure every interaction reflects our "180 degrees from ordinary" philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for:
- Reservation Processing: Handle daily production work related to the processing of bookings in our reservation systems, maintaining high levels of quality and accuracy in all transactions.
- Booking Management: Process reservations, revisions, cancellations, booking notes, and all aspects of guest bookings using our advanced reservation system.
- Policy Application: Apply company policies effectively to all bookings while maintaining flexibility to address unique guest needs.
- Guest Service Excellence: Provide exceptional guest service through all lines of communication—phone, email, and chat—maintaining a professional and calm demeanor at all times, even during challenging situations.
- Primary Contact Role: Act as the primary call and contact agent for all service-related inquiries, ensuring timely and satisfactory responses.
- Revenue Support: Assist in achieving department revenue goals by attempting to upsell or add value to existing bookings when appropriate.
- Sales Backup: Provide sales call backup to the Reservations team during peak call times as directed by management.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong functional knowledge of the arenaflex product, including our fleet, itineraries, and onboard amenities.
- Problem Resolution: Advise supervisors of all problems and recommend resolutions in a timely manner.
- Technical Support: Assist guests and travel advisors in troubleshooting issues with our online booking platforms and related systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge of our products and services.
Qualifications & Skills
Basic Requirements
- Must reside in one of the following states: AR, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, LA, ME, MN, MO, NH, SC, TX, UT, VT, or WI.
- Must have access to a hardwired internet connection (not just Wi-Fi) to ensure reliable connectivity for calls and systems.
- Must be available to work shifts that may include weekends and evenings, as our guests and travel advisors require support around the clock.
- Note: While this is a remote position, it requires full attention during work hours and is not suitable for those seeking to combine this role with dependent care responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in cruise or tour operations and reservations is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the travel industry.
- Customer Service Background: Previous customer service experience is preferred, demonstrating your ability to handle guest inquiries professionally.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professionalism, credibility, and confidence. Ability to present information in a positive and convincing manner.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong capability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Self-Motivation: Self-starter with excellent task management skills and the ability to work independently.
