What You'll Do

As an inbound phone customer service representative, you'll be the first point of contact for customers seeking assistance. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Responding to high volumes of inbound phone calls from customers seeking product information, order status updates, and technical support

  • Building strong customer relationships by providing knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service with every interaction

  • Collaborating with sales team members and other departments to ensure seamless order processing and customer satisfaction

  • Navigating multiple computer programs simultaneously to access customer accounts, product databases, and order management systems

  • Resolving customer challenges by utilizing all available resources for accurate account selection, product identification, and order placement

  • Addressing and resolving pricing and invoicing discrepancies with professionalism and attention to detail

  • Processing customer credits and implementing return procedures according to company policies

  • Maintaining detailed records of customer interactions and transactions for quality assurance and follow-up purposes

  • Meeting or exceeding performance metrics related to call handling time, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution

  • Participating in ongoing training sessions to stay current on product knowledge, company policies, and customer service best practices

Essential Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to listen actively and respond clearly

  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to navigate multiple PC-based programs simultaneously

  • Comfortable working with periods of sitting for up to 8 hours per day

  • Ability to commute to our facility from your home location in or near Evansdale, IA

  • A secure, dedicated workspace at home that is free from distractions and suitable for work activities

  • Stable internet connection with documented speeds greater than 5 Mbps upload, 15 Mbps download, and ping less than 80 milliseconds

  • Availability to work the standard shift of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in inbound call center or customer service phone support

  • Familiarity with order management systems and CRM platforms

  • Experience in the industrial or distribution industry

  • Bilingual language capabilities (Spanish or other languages)

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet

  • Proven track record of meeting performance targets in previous roles

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive Pay:


  • Starting pay of $15.80 per hour

  • Three automatic raises within your first 12 months, bringing your pay to $17.00 per hour
