We are seeking an experienced and passionate Customer Engineer to join our team as a machine learning subject matter expert. In this role, you will work closely with our Technical Sales teams to differentiate arenaflex Cloud, helping prospective customers and partners understand the power of our AI/ML capabilities. You will explain technical features, help customers design architectures, and problem-solve any potential roadblocks along their digital transformation journey.
What You Will Do
As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you will be the bridge between our innovative technology and our customers' success. Your primary responsibility will be to provide machine learning expertise that supports the technical relationship with arenaflex's customers across the healthcare and life sciences sector. This includes conducting product and solution briefings, leading proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption to arenaflex Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development Support: Work collaboratively with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities. Understand key customer technical objections and develop strategic approaches to resolve technical blockers that stand in the way of customer success.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert in machine learning, providing deep technical knowledge to support the technical relationship with arenaflex's customers. This includes delivering product and solution briefings that showcase the power of arenaflex's AI/ML capabilities.
- Proof of Concept Development: Lead and execute proof-of-concept work that demonstrates the value of arenaflex Cloud solutions. Design and implement prototypes that showcase how our technology can solve real-world healthcare and life sciences challenges.
- Customer Integration: Work closely with customers to demonstrate and prototype arenaflex Cloud product integrations in their specific environments. Provide hands-on technical guidance to ensure successful implementation.
- Architecture Recommendation: Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement complete solutions using best practices on arenaflex Cloud. Ensure that customers receive scalable, secure, and efficient architectures tailored to their needs.
- Hardware Innovation: Help customers leverage specialized Machine Learning (ML) hardware developed by arenaflex, including Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). Work closely with customers and product development teams to shape the future of our TPU platform.
- Travel and Engagement: Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed to build relationships, deliver presentations, and provide on-site technical support.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional communication skills. You should be comfortable engaging with both technical stakeholders and executive leaders, translating complex concepts into business value.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer at an enterprise technology company or a similar customer-facing role.
- Proven experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Hands-on experience with big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks such as TensorFlow, Python, and MATLAB.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures including deep learning, LSTM, and convolutional networks.
- Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
- Experience in data and information management as it relates to big data trends and issues within businesses.
- Ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and IT technology space.
- Experience in the healthcare and life sciences industry is a strong plus, with understanding of industry-specific compliance requirements and data governance.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset, and we are committed to providing competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
