About the Role

As an Analytics Data Scientist on our Data Platform – Insights team, you will serve as a critical partner to stage, management, and functional engineering teams. Your work will directly influence how success is measured across our organization, and you'll play a pivotal role in defining the questions that need to be answered while scaling analytical methods and tools to support our continued growth.

In this position, you'll help establish the vision for business analytics, design solution architectures for data-driven business initiatives, and lead tactical implementations including exploratory analysis and campaign performance reporting. You'll be preparing the organization for high-quality, high-speed decision-making and will report directly to senior leadership, providing strategic insights that shape our business trajectory.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our analytics team, you will be responsible for:

• Strategic Data Partnership: Work closely with members of our Stages and Services teams to guide them toward better decision-making using available data. Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business outcomes.
• Insight Communication: Advance data and insights by managing communications with partners and various teams across the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to complete data projects and ensure all parties can leverage insights to further improve operations and performance.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a client-focused approach while becoming a space and product expert through data. Develop trust among peers and ensure that teams and projects have access to the data they need to make informed decisions.
• Problem Resolution: Manage ambiguous issues and adapt tools to address complex queries. Navigate challenges with creativity and analytical rigor, finding innovative solutions to novel problems.
• Trade-off Analysis: Identify the trade-offs between speed and quality of different approaches. Balance the need for rapid insights with analytical rigor and accuracy.
• Metrics Framework Development: Create analytical frameworks to measure team success by partnering with teams to establish success metrics, develop approaches to track data and analyze errors, measure and evaluate information to develop a common language for all partners to understand these metrics.
• Process Operationalization: Operationalize data processes to provide partners with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools so everyone has a fair view of the business state. Ensure accessibility and usability of data across the organization.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of domain experience in a consumer web business, or in a fast-paced, high-growth product or team environment. You should be comfortable operating in dynamic settings where priorities may shift and adaptability is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Master SQL skills with demonstrated capability in Python or R. You should be able to write complex queries, optimize performance, and work with large datasets efficiently.
• Business Acumen: Experience using data to create understanding and drive measurable business results. You should have a track record of translating analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Analytical Skills: Familiarity with data analysis and communication around data, including time series analysis, experimentation, data visualization, and defining the KPI strategy for your business area.
• Interpersonal Effectiveness: Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to maintain productive relationships across teams. You should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
