What You'll Do as an AI Software Engineer

As an AI Software Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in identifying, designing, and implementing AI solutions that address some of the most complex challenges in the aviation industry. Your work will span the entire AI development lifecycle, from initial problem identification and conceptualization to building proof-of-concept models and deploying scalable solutions. Here's what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:

• Identify Business Opportunities: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and partners across various business units to identify and define complex business problems that are suitable for AI-driven solutions. You'll serve as a technical subject matter expert, helping stakeholders understand what's possible with modern AI technologies.


• Develop AI Strategy: Actively participate in developing the technical strategy that determines which frameworks, technologies, and infrastructure our team should leverage for our proof-of-concept projects and pilot programs. You'll evaluate emerging tools and methodologies, staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.


• Build Proof-of-Concepts: Construct proofs-of-concept and prototypes that demonstrate the tangible impact of AI solutions across different business units—from operations and maintenance to customer service and marketing. Your models will help stakeholders visualize the value AI can bring to their specific domains.


• Create Reusable Frameworks: Develop a library of reusable models, components, and solutions that enable rapid prototyping and accelerate AI adoption throughout the organization. You'll help establish best practices and coding standards that other teams can follow.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-4 years of combined work and/or educational experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning


• Strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, C/C++, Python, or R


• Substantial experience with Python for software development, including familiarity with complex programming methodologies and best practices


• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following AI/ML domains: Natural Language Processing, sentiment analysis, classification, or pattern recognition


• Development experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, Microsoft CNTK, scikit-learn, Keras, Caffe, Gluon, LightGBM, SageMaker, or Azure AI


• Experience with basic web UI and API development


• Comfortable presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences


• Embraces diverse perspectives, thinking styles, and backgrounds


• Consistently prioritizes the safety and security of self, others, and sensitive data


• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; minimum 18 years of age


• Authorization to work legally in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the travel, aviation, or airline industry

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field


• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed computing
