3D Artist Needed to Turn 2D Character Art into High-Quality STL Miniatures
Posted 2026-05-05Hi!
I am looking for a talented 3D artist to help turn fantasy character artwork into high-quality 3D miniature files for printing and painting. This is for a personal tabletop project, and I care a lot about quality, character likeness, and clean final models.
I already have 7 2D character images for the designs, as well as Meshy-generated files that can be used as a starting point. That said, I am not looking for someone to just run an auto-cleanup pass and send it back. I am looking for someone who can actually refine the model, improve the sculpt where needed, preserve the important character details, and deliver a final STL that will look great as a miniature when printed.
These are fantasy / D&D-style characters, so experience with tabletop miniatures is a big plus. I would strongly prefer someone who understands miniature proportions, readable detail at small scale, and what makes a character model look good once printed and painted.
What I will provide for the 7 characters:
2D character art
Meshy-generated files
Notes on key design details I want preserved
Scale / base preferences if needed
What I am looking for:
Strong Blender and/or ZBrush skills
Experience creating or refining tabletop miniatures
Ability to take source material and turn it into a polished final model
Good communication and willingness to do a test piece
Someone interested in building an ongoing relationship if the first batch goes well
Deliverables (for each of the 7):
Final STL file
Clean, high-quality model suitable for miniature printing
Preserved likeness and important visual features from the original art
To apply, please send:
Examples of miniature work you have done before
A quick note on your process
Your pricing, either per model or hourly
Whether you would prefer to work from the 2D art directly, from the Meshy base, or both
Thanks very much, and I look forward to hearing from you!
