Responsibilities
- Demonstrates professionalism and accountability
- Models ethical behavior in decision making
- Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action
- Sets up and accurately maintains files both electronically and on paper, including logs, reports, and records
- Retrieves and distributes mail daily
- Assists with the coordination of meetings, agendas, and minutes, and schedules appointments for the department
- Utilizes available computer resources to minimize manual processes and serves as a resource person on computer software usage and techniques
- Exhibits good judgment and time management skills to accomplish daily tasks and suggests cost-saving measures
- Answers the phone, directs calls, and takes messages
- Maintains a pleasant, caring attitude when greeting customers and patients
- Types, edits, proofreads, and distributes reports and documents
Skills
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
- Must exhibit ability to use personal computer, copier, telephone, and facsimile machine
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- High School Grad or Equiv
- 1+ secretarial or receptionist experience
- Position-Related Experience
- Previous work processing experience in a medical setting
- Proficient in Word and Excel software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
