Position Overview
As a Remote Pharmacist – Centralized Services Professional at arenaflex, you will be responsible for executing patient intervention pharmacy programs, ensuring compliance with clinical pharmacy services, and driving pharmacy financial performance. This position requires a dedicated professional who can balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency, all while representing arenaflex as a trusted resource for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance partners.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Programs
- Execute direct patient care programs, including but not limited to:
- Drug Therapy Management programs
- Vaccination Services
- Payer and Pharma Adherence and Clinical Programs
- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and patient profile analyses to ensure appropriate and safe medication therapy
- Provide individualized patient and provider consultations, addressing concerns and offering expert guidance
- Deliver clinical advice and information to patients, physicians, and insurance plans as needed
- Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills to win patient trust by actively listening to concerns and serving as a sounding board for pharmacy-related questions
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Drive the execution of various policies and operations to ensure business needs are met while maintaining quality standards
- Lead compliance and continuous quality improvement in the delivery of clinical pharmacy patient care by researching, evaluating, and redesigning processes; monitoring and analyzing results; and implementing necessary changes
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, standard operating procedures, and FDA guidelines
- Comply with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including all HIPAA rules and guidelines
- Conduct data and clinical reviews, taking appropriate action to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications
Financial Performance & Business Development
- Drive pharmacy financial performance by aligning business strategies with company financial goals
- Implement and execute patient intervention pharmacy programs to maximize financial performance while improving patient health outcomes
- Support efforts to improve patient experience by increasing focus on healthcare services such as patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, and retail, clinical, or wellness services including vaccinations, illness state management, and Specialty programs
- Provide feedback on the effectiveness of Client Retention Programs, incorporating patient comments regarding the value of individual consultations
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide expertise, resources, education, and support to pharmacists and field leadership
- Support staff training experiences and create advancement opportunities
- Promote collaboration and inspire pharmacy staff by fostering a shared vision and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
- Serve as a knowledgeable authority and resource to other pharmacists and field leaders
- Foster strong relationships with clinical communities in assigned areas
Prescription Processing & Documentation
- Process prescriptions from a remote setting with accuracy and efficiency
- Review drug histories and patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe medication treatment
- Document all patient interactions, interventions, and clinical decisions in accordance with arenaflex standards
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy industry developments and required licensure
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following:
- Current Pharmacist License: Valid pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority
- Education: Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or related field
- Problem-Solving Skills: Experience inspiring colleagues to research and resolve issues
- Confidentiality: Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
- Flexibility: Ability to work non-standard hours, which may include nights, holidays, and/or weekends
- Time Management: Experience using time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details while meeting deadlines for various tasks with varying completion dates
- Self-Motivation: Experience developing approaches to achieving goals with minimal supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and knowing when to escalate issues
- Customer Service: Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction
- Travel Availability: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Willingness to acquire additional state pharmacy licenses if needed
- Knowledge of insurance plans and billing procedures
- Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems including Radio, Commitment, and Plus
- Microsoft Excel: Basic level proficiency (e.g., opening a workbook, inserting a row, selecting font and size, formatting cells as currency, using copy, paste and save functions, adjusting text, selecting cells, renaming a worksheet, inserting a column, selecting a chart style, inserting a worksheet, setting margins, selecting page orientation, using spell check and/or printing worksheets)
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic level proficiency (e.g., embedding, editing, hiding and deleting slides, navigating between slides, expanding list levels, adding, centering and editing text, changing views, inserting a table or note, moving objects, printing frame view and/or running a slide show)
- Microsoft Word: Basic level proficiency (e.g., opening a document, cutting, pasting and adjusting text, selecting font type and size, changing margins and column width, formatting, inserting shots, images and dates, using find and replace, repair, spell check, track changes, review sheet and/or print capabilities)
