What You'll Do
As a Data Scientist – Analytics professional at arenaflex, you will be instrumental in overseeing data instrumentation, dashboard and report creation, metrics reviews, and hypothesis development. Your role will involve working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the company, ensuring that data-driven insights are accessible and actionable for everyone.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Drive Data-Informed Decision Making: Partner with teams across Platforms and Services to guide them toward better decision-making using available data. Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that non-technical stakeholders can understand and implement.
- Advance Insights Through Collaboration: Manage communications with partners and various teams, collaborate with colleagues to complete data projects, and ensure all parties can leverage insights to further improve operations and business outcomes.
- Maintain Client-Centered Focus: Act as a subject matter expert in your domain and product area through data analysis. Develop trust among peers and ensure that teams and projects have access to the data they need to make informed decisions.
- Navigate Ambiguity: Manage ambiguous issues and adapt tools to address complex questions. You will be comfortable working in gray areas where requirements may not be fully defined and will thrive on finding creative solutions.
- Balance Speed and Quality: Identify the tradeoffs between speed and quality for different approaches. Understand when rapid iteration is preferred versus when more thorough analysis is needed.
- Develop Measurement Strategies: Create scientific strategies to measure team success by working with teams to establish success metrics, develop approaches to track data and analyze errors, measure and evaluate data to develop a common language for all partners to understand these metrics.
- Operationalize Data Processes: Build and maintain data cycles to provide partners with ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools so everyone has visibility into the state of the business.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of domain experience in customer-facing e-commerce, or in a fast-paced, high-growth product or team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R programming languages. You should be comfortable writing complex queries and manipulating large datasets.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Experience using data to create insights and drive measurable business results. You should have a proven track record of translating analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Analytical Skills: Familiarity with data analysis and communication, including time series analysis, experimentation, data visualization, and defining KPI strategies for business areas.
- Communication Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences effectively.
- Collaborative Spirit: Great team player with the ability to maintain strong relationships across departments and with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for online communities, streaming platforms, and digital entertainment
- Experience in Operational Excellence, defining metrics, and analysis reporting
- Experience working with software development and operational event data
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, and neural networks
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Understanding of A/B testing methodologies and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies
