Position Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytically gifted Data Analyst to support our team in creating and maintaining comprehensive reporting systems, providing department insights on performance metrics, and building robust data models to solve complex business challenges. In this role, you'll work closely with technology teams on business requirements and data warehouse services to meet evolving department demands.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Visualization Development
- Create new, modify existing, and implement ad-hoc reporting to support business operations and data-driven decision making
- Develop relevant dashboards using Power BI and Excel that provide real-time insights
- Utilize data storytelling principles to create clear and impactful data visualizations using Power BI
- Generate, maintain, and develop scalable data pipelines and data architecture
- Produce various reporting artifacts including Dimensions, Measures, Filters, Calculated Columns, transformations, conditional formatting, DAX queries, and interactions
Data Quality & Governance
- Create robust Data Quality specifications and controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility
- Validate data for accuracy by verifying against established standards
- Research data errors and remediate poor data quality issues
- Participate in the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary and maintaining policies & procedures
- Thoroughly assess information obtained from multiple sources and resolve discrepancies
Data Pipeline & Integration Management
- Manage and generate new data pipelines from source devices to the Data Warehouse
- Work with ETL tools including SSIS, Power BI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations
- Collaborate with IT and Business Analysts to investigate, research, and acquire new data variables through data exploration
- Ensure seamless data flow between various systems and platforms
Business Partnership & Analysis
- Work closely with Management and Business Analysts to understand business requirements
- Maintain complete documentation and obtain business sign-offs for all reporting requirements
- Communicate effectively from daily operational documents to high-level strategic metrics
- Analyze and confirm metrics are effective and provide feedback to division leaders on trends that require attention
- Aid in automating existing business processes and improving exception-based reporting
Advanced Analytics
- Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns that provide actionable results
- Perform problem-solving through statistical analysis with big data sets
- Apply analytical techniques to uncover hidden insights and opportunities
Essential Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
- 2+ years of experience performing in-depth data analysis
- Strong experience collaborating with Power BI
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to write complex SQL queries to generate reports and analytics
- Solid data modeling experience using star schema or other methodologies
- Working knowledge of different reporting components like Dimensions, Measures, Filters, Calculated Columns, transformations, conditional formatting, DAX queries, and Interactions in Power BI
- Strong focus on the development and timely completion of projects and deadlines
Technical Proficiency
- Knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) language
- Understanding of M Code (Power Query formula language)
- Experience with ETL tools including SSIS, Power BI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations
- Expertise with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Power BI, and Power Query
- Experience with Smartsheets is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Problem-solving through statistical analysis with big data sets is highly preferred
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services
- Background in data warehousing concepts and best practices
- Understanding of data visualization best practices and design principles
- Experience working in agile or fast-paced environments
