What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Administration Representative at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with meaningful responsibilities that directly impact patient well-being:
- Patient Prescription Coordination: Handle the complete coordination and processing of new patient medication orders and prescription refills, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
- Benefits Verification: Verify and update patient insurance benefits, working meticulously to confirm coverage details and ensure seamless billing processes.
- Prescription Entry: Accurately interpret and enter new prescriptions and refill requests into our advanced pharmacy information system, maintaining the highest level of data accuracy.
- Financial Processing: Collect and process copay amounts from patients, explaining their financial responsibilities with clarity and empathy.
- Prior Authorization: Obtain necessary prior authorizations from insurance providers, navigating complex approval processes to ensure patients receive their medications without delay.
- Insurance Liaison: Collaborate directly with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to monitor, identify, resolve, and approve orders that may have billing or clinical issues.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve complex customer concerns with patience, professionalism, and a commitment to finding solutions that prioritize patient health and satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that both financial and clinical expectations are met before order fulfillment, maintaining our rigorous quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all patient interactions, prescriptions, and communications in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensure: Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License, or willingness to obtain an Illinois Pharmacy Technician License within the first 30 days of employment.
- Customer Service Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a customer service role handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs via telephone.
- Technical Proficiency: Minimum one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, web navigation, and email applications.
- Keyboard Skills: Minimum one year of computer keyboarding experience with demonstrated proficiency and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and internal partners.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time hours (8 hours per day) and meet the requirements for remote work in Illinois, USA.
Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and experiences would be highly valued:
- Healthcare industry experience with knowledge of benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology.
- Experience in specialty pharmacy or mail-order pharmacy operations.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Previous experience in prior authorization processes.
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish is a plus).
- Experience working in a remote or virtual call center environment.
