We are currently seeking an Application Specialist, Flow Cytometry who will be responsible for support, demonstration and KOL management in Flow Cytometry market.
This position is part of the Flow Cytometry Division located in Tokyo and will be fully remote.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Develop and execute application plans for customer management by leveraging advanced technical and application expertise. Define and implement annual objectives, strategies, and action plans aligned with business goals.
Understand customer workflows and provide tailored information and solutions to meet user needs, including product demonstrations, presentations, and educational seminars, in order to enhance customer satisfaction and support instrument replacement and upgrade initiatives.
Provide post-purchase support to customers, including product operation training and application-level after-sales service. Respond to customer inquiries regarding data analysis and measurement results, as well as inquiries from distributors, including product promotion and complaint handling. Communicate customer requests and product issues to global teams and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.
Gather customer needs and market trends through customer visits and participation in scientific conferences. Based on these insights, develop sales materials, application notes, and support and training documentation.
Manage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and proactively identify and develop potential regional KOLs to strengthen customer engagement and market presence.
The essential requirements for the job include:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a researcher or application specialist in the bio/life sciences industry, or equivalent experience. Hands-on experience with flow cytometry is highly preferred.
Intermediate or higher proficiency in business English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
Strong written communication skills and interpersonal communication ability in Japanese.
Bachelor’s degree required in a life sciences–related field (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, or a related discipline).
Demonstrated project management skills.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Frequent domestic travel is required, averaging approximately 10 days per month, including day trips and overnight stays. During peak periods, travel may increase to up to approximately 15 days per month.
Occasional weekend work is required several times per year to support scientific conferences and related events.
Occasional international travel may be required, approximately once per year.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Research or professional experience in immunology is preferred.
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a life sciences–related field is preferred.
