The Role: Strategy & Analytics Consultant

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to understand our business operations, providing critical insights that drive growth, enhancement, and optimization across the organization. You will apply your analytical and technical expertise, along with your knowledge of business and operational data, to solve complex business challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of how different areas of the company interact and be capable of visualizing cohesive strategies that can be implemented across multiple teams.
This role involves working with data tools, business concepts, and operational strategies while being prepared to present your team's work to Senior Leadership. You will have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge technology and analytical methodologies to influence key business decisions that impact our operations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of industry trends while supporting the development of new strategies, methodologies, tools, and reports that drive business improvement.
- Data Management: Engage in understanding, improving, and sharing available data tools with various departments across the organization to ensure seamless information flow and data accessibility.
- Technical Proficiency: Leverage advanced technology skills including SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, Tableau, and Big Data Concepts along with business data to provide comprehensive solutions to business requests.
- Data Transformation: Transform raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings that inform strategic decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Model Development: Participate in the development and improvement of models and strategies, including supporting their downstream implementation across relevant teams.
- Technical Guidance: Facilitate and share technical guidance on ideas and topics to organizations throughout the business, serving as a subject matter expert on analytical approaches.
- Optimization Analysis: Conduct assessments using optimization and various available tools to create and analyze scenarios providing insights into how different business decisions perform under various conditions.
- Data Privacy: Utilize appropriate data management practices that include privacy standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations regarding sensitive information.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Perform various strategic duties as directed by leadership, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
Essential Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field preferred
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines is a plus
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in Network Planning or Airline Operations
- Proven experience in data collection, applied data, business assessment, and presentation
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Proven experience presenting to Senior Leadership with confidence and clarity
- Experience with Alteryx or other data manipulation software
- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of SQL (Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, or similar)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
- Familiarity with big data concepts and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of data manipulation and ETL processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or related field
- Previous experience in the airline or transportation industry
- Knowledge of arenaflex operations and business model
- Experience with optimization software and modeling techniques
- Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)
