Position Duties

As the Director of the Conservation Landscape Program, you will provide support to the Deputy Secretary for Conservation & Technical Services and act in an executive leadership capacity to develop, promote, plan, and advance conservation priorities, policy recommendations, and related projects.  You will develop, implement, and coordinate Conservation Landscape Program goals, priorities, and outcomes; develop and track performance metrics for the Conservation Landscape Program; prepare an annual report of findings to be shared with internal and external audiences; and recommend actions to ensure appropriate progress is being made to meet program goals and priorities. 


You will also have the opportunity to develop and review analyses of trends, policies, and programs related to the benefits of large landscape conservation for outdoor recreation and land conservation, sustainable tourism, cultural heritage, economic development, resource management, community engagement, land use, and planning.  Within this role, you will employ your networking skills to lead the department’s collaborative engagement efforts with community leaders, state and federal agencies, and other interested parties related to conservation, outdoor recreation, cultural heritage, and resource management programs.
