The Role: Data Scientist – New Product Introduction
As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our product development and manufacturing processes. Your work will directly influence our engineering teams, production facilities, and ultimately, the exceptional products we deliver to customers worldwide. In this position, you'll be responsible for architecting and designing data interactions and dashboarding systems that prevent errors from occurring as we manage change to drive improvements in our high-performance products. You'll serve as a leader who is objective-oriented, results-driven, and deeply data-informed, working alongside cross-functional teams to transform raw data into strategic advantages.

What You'll Do
- Build Robust Analytical Tools: Design and develop flexible, automated software tools that enable complex analysis of real-time data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all operations.
- Manufacturing Impact Analysis: Answer complex questions regarding change impacts on manufacturing processes, providing insights that shape production strategies and operational excellence.
- Cross-Functional Data Integration: Gather, synthesize, and communicate information from various data storage locations, breaking down silos and enabling unified decision-making across departments.
- Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supplier, and IT teams to ensure data-driven insights align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Data Pipeline Automation: Contribute to the automation and standardization of our data pipelines, improving reliability and reducing manual intervention.
- Compelling Visualizations: Build intuitive visualizations that communicate complex findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Change Coordination Analysis: Analyze and determine optimal solutions for change coordination with manufacturing facilities, other arenaflex plants, and suppliers—including EBOM and MBOM considerations.
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership in analysis, modeling, and planning to advance the team's capabilities and results. Mentor colleagues and collaborate both in-person and remotely to solve complex business challenges.
- Business Process Optimization: Develop and program the management of performance solutions and business processes that are optimized for speed, accuracy, cost efficiency, capacity, and scalability.
- Decision Support Systems: Build decision support tools, instruments, and models that are adaptable and reproducible to aid in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with partners to take ambiguous problem statements, refine the scope of investigation, and use results to drive informed, data-backed decisions.
- Insight Communication: Summarize and clearly articulate data analysis assumptions and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Production Dashboard Development: Build data pipelines to transform ad-hoc data investigations into production dashboards that teams can rely on for ongoing insights.
- Self-Service Analytics Enablement: Design and implement metrics, applications, and tools that empower engineers by allowing them to self-serve their data insights.
- Application Adoption: Work with engineers to drive adoption of your applications and tools, ensuring maximum value is realized across the organization.
- Quality Code Development: Write clean, tested code that can be maintained and extended by other programmers, following best practices in software development.
- Production Support: Operate and support your production applications, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on relevant technologies and frameworks, proposing new approaches that the team could leverage for improved outcomes.
- Innovation and Trend Identification: Identify trends, develop better approaches for examining data, and set innovative standards to drive improvements in both existing and future products.
What You'll Bring
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience with demonstrated exceptional ability.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of data structures, frameworks, and languages, including SQL and other database technologies.
- Visualization Expertise: Experience and passion for data visualization techniques that make complex information accessible and actionable.
- Problem-Solving Agility: Ability to problem-solve and shift priorities with minimal early notice while meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Toolbox Diversity: Experience with statistical software (such as R), database languages (SQL), simulation tools (FlexSim, AnyLogic, or similar), and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI, d3.js, or equivalent).
- Adaptability: Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, high-growth environment where agility is key to success.
- Data Acumen: Comfortable working with unstructured, incomplete, and ambiguous data, extracting meaningful insights from challenging datasets.
