Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer, the Vice President of Strategic Business Development & Analytics is responsible for planning, developing, and communicating strategic data initiatives across the organization. This executive will lead efforts to enhance the accessibility and quality of data collected from diverse sources—including clinical, operational, and financial datasets—to empower arenaflex departments and stakeholders to make informed, evidence-based decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in data analytics, business development, and team leadership within the healthcare sector. You will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies, processes, and methodologies that leverage advanced analytics solutions to drive progress and improvement in clinical and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the arenaflex executive leadership team, you will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:
- Strategic Data Leadership: Plan, develop, and communicate strategic data initiatives that align with arenaflex's overall business objectives and mission. Ensure the seamless integration of data from multiple sources to create a comprehensive view of organizational performance.
- Data Infrastructure Development: Design and execute strategies, processes, and procedures to improve the timeliness and quality of data collected from clinical, operational, financial, and other critical sources. Establish robust data governance frameworks that ensure accuracy, security, and compliance.
- Analytics Strategy: Lead the development of systems, approaches, methodologies, and standards using data analysis solutions that drive success and improvement in clinical and business operations. Champion the use of predictive analytics, trend analysis, and data mining to address current challenges and identify new opportunities.
- Insight Generation: Identify significant insights, interpret complex market data, and communicate findings to create actionable plans that address existing business issues and emerging opportunities. Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to develop strategy and drive decisions based on data, facts, and scientific findings. Build and manage relationships across the organization while setting and managing expectations with key stakeholders.
- Technical Oversight: May coordinate the design, development, and coding of software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to clean, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple sources. Ensure technical solutions align with business requirements and strategic goals.
- Performance Measurement: Utilize key metrics to measure business results and outcomes, identify areas of strategic focus, and propose operational improvements that will impact arenaflex's future healthcare delivery and business performance.
- Unit Leadership: Develop strategy and business plans for one or more specialty units or functional areas. Lead strategy development and execution, identify resourcing needs, and provide guidance on critical business decisions. Focus on current-year operations while contributing to long-term strategy and business planning.
- Team Management: Lead and coordinate a large division, multiple offices, or a single specialty unit. Manage multiple levels of subordinate VPs, directors, and supervisors across varied disciplines and skill levels. Assume administrative responsibility for staffing and budgets for a large scope of control.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, healthcare administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is strongly preferred and will be considered an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, IT, or a related field. At least 3+ years of experience in a leadership or executive role is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with data analysis applications and multiple data reporting tools. Strong familiarity with healthcare data systems, electronic health records (EHR), and clinical data repositories is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation abilities. Must be capable of effectively communicating data findings, analysis, recommendations, and proposals to varied stakeholder audiences across all levels of the organization.
- Analytical Capabilities: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to distill large amounts of data into simple language and actionable plans. Must be able to present a compelling, visual story that drives decision-making.
- Relationship Building: Proven experience building relationships and collaborating across teams at all levels of the organization. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the application of strategy and analysis to drive organizational performance. Deep understanding of healthcare industry dynamics, trends, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will significantly enhance a candidate's suitability for this role:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or PhD) in a relevant field
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a large healthcare system or hospital network
