About the Project

Statewide initiative to modernize the technology platform used by Child Welfare professionals throughout California. SolutionsWest is supporting this effort with training design, development, and delivery to prepare organization staff to navigate the new system confidently. This is a high-impact role on one of California’s most important Health and Human Services technology projects.

    Position Details
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Employee
  • Expected Duration: June 1, 2026 – October 31, 2026
  • Primary Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)
  • Travel Required: Statewide travel throughout California is required. Candidates must be willing and able to travel to county offices and training sites across the state as needed.
    Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design and development of Train-the-Trainer and End-User training programs for a broad range of stakeholders, including county child welfare workers, supervisors, and administrators
  • Work closely with Project Implementation Leads and OCM resources to understand organizational readiness and the goals and objectives of the learning community
  • Conduct virtual and onsite training sessions for diverse audiences across the state
  • Refine training materials, including presentations, quick reference guides, job aids, and other instructional content
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, and key performance indicators
  • Participate in training rehearsals, dry runs, and continuous improvement cycles
  • Maintain training records and provide status updates to project leadership
    Mandatory Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials for technology implementations or system rollouts
  • Experience delivering live instructor-led training in both virtual and onsite settings
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and instructional skills
  • Proficiency with virtual training facilitation tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Ability to travel throughout California for onsite training delivery
  • Must be able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check through the California Department of Justice and the FBI
    Strongly Desired Qualifications
  • Child welfare program knowledge, including Intake, Investigation, Ongoing Case Management, Foster Care, Adoption, Probation, and/or Tribal programs
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and how training integrates within system implementation phases
  • Experience working on statewide IT transformation projects within Health and Human Services
  • Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Familiarity with California county child welfare operations and organizational structures
