    Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst/Actuary (Part-time/Ad-hoc)
  • Long-term Contract
  • 100% Remote
  • Part-time/Ad-hoc (10-30 hours per month, on average)

Responsibilities

    Quantitative Analysis & Modeling:
  • Lead quantitative analysis and modeling to evaluate hospital facility fees and related payment policies.
  • Analyze datasets to assess payer impacts and policy scenarios.
  • Develop and apply statistical methods and analytic frameworks to support policy evaluation.
  • Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses relevant to healthcare payment policy.
    Survey Design & Qualitative Analysis:
  • Design stakeholder surveys and data collection tools to gather insights from clinicians, hospitals, and other healthcare stakeholders.
  • Develop sampling strategies, survey instruments, and analytic plans.
  • Analyze survey results and integrate findings with claims-based quantitative analysis.
  • Ensure appropriate methodological documentation and transparency.
    Data Visualization & Interpretation:
  • Create data visualizations, charts, and graphics to communicate key analytic findings.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and subject matter experts to interpret analytic results.
  • Translate complex statistical findings into clear, actionable insights relevant to policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders.
    Policy Analysis & Reporting:
  • Contribute to the development of briefs summarizing quantitative and qualitative findings.
  • Clearly document assumptions, methods, and methodological considerations used in the analysis.
  • Support preparation of technical appendices, exhibits, and analytic documentation.
  • Ensure analytic outputs are accurate, transparent, and reproducible.
    Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with policy analysts, clinicians, and project leadership.
  • Participate in periodic analytic reviews and discussions of findings and policy implications.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

Masters degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Economics, Health Services Research, Data Science, Public Health, or a related quantitative field OR Bachelors degree in a quantitative field with significant professional experience (7+ years) in healthcare data analysis, actuarial analysis, or health policy research.

    Skills:
  • Experience designing and analyzing health policy or healthcare stakeholder surveys.
  • Experience analyzing healthcare payment models, reimbursement policy, or rate-setting systems.
  • Experience assessing methodological assumptions and limitations.
  • Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and analytic graphics to communicate findings.
