Position Overview
We are currently seeking an accomplished and dynamic Senior Manager of Self Service Engineering to lead our Enterprise Application Development team. This leadership role is perfect for a technically proficient manager who excels at bridging the gap between business strategy and engineering excellence. You will be responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of our self-service product portfolio, from initial concept and development through to deployment and continuous improvement.
As the Senior Manager of Self Service Engineering at arenaflex, you will lead and mentor a talented team of Lead Engineers, Senior Engineers, and technical specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Product Leadership: Manage the complete lifecycle of self-service products from ideation and prototyping through development, launch, and retirement, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Team Development & Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Engineering Leads, Technical Leads, and team members while fostering an environment of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Engineering Excellence: Establish and promote a workplace focused on engineering excellence to attract, develop, and energize a culture of technical innovation while driving achievement of product goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management and Marketing teams to develop compelling product visions, roadmaps, and strategic direction for self-service initiatives.
- Technical Architecture: Develop comprehensive technology roadmaps for products within your area of responsibility, ensuring security, reliability, scalability, and performance excellence.
- Standards & Best Practices: Drive the development of policies, standards, and guidelines for building and supporting enterprise IT products and solutions.
- Architecture & Design Leadership: Establish frameworks, design patterns, and integration architectures while providing technical guidance for software development activities performed by team members.
- Financial Management: Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on financial and resource planning for your area of responsibility, including budget management and resource allocation.
- Operational Support: Serve as the escalation point for operational support for assigned portfolio applications with 24/7 exposure and availability.
- Environment Management: Manage production and non-production environments through change control management processes and best practices.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure work practices align with all audit, security, and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
- Organizational Collaboration: Partner with other Engineering Managers to ensure alignment, drive efficiencies, and share best practices across the organization.
- Talent Development: Play a critical role in driving and mentoring direct reports as well as cross-functional team members to support engagement, growth, and advancement opportunities within the IT division.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent); OR demonstrated ability to perform key work responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Java, AngularJS, and Node.js technologies, with the ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Cloud Computing: Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms including Azure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), or AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Travel Availability: Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 35%) to support business operations and team collaboration.
- Documentation: Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel throughout the United States.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response without prior notice to support critical business needs.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug assessment as per company policy.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally qualified to work in the country in which the position is located. Authorization to work in the United States is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
