Senior Hand Render Artist - Diamond Painting

The Diamond Art Gallery is looking for an elite-level render artist to join our team.

This is not an entry-level role. This is not for hobbyists experimenting with conversions. We are building a luxury, artist-first brand, and we are only interested in working with artists who operate at the very top of their craft.

If your work is anything less than exceptional, this is not the right fit.

About Us

The Diamond Art Gallery is a luxury diamond painting company focused on fully hand-rendered artwork. We collaborate directly with licensed artists and treat every canvas as a collectible piece of art, not just a product.

We do not use computer-generated renders. Every piece is built intentionally, from a blank canvas, with a deep understanding of color, light, and form.

What You’ll Do
• Create fully hand-rendered diamond painting charts from licensed artwork
• Work directly from source images to preserve artistic integrity
• Translate painterly detail into clean, readable, high-end renders
• Balance color count, blending, and clarity with precision
• Collaborate on feedback and revisions with a strong art direction focus

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
• Advanced proficiency in WinStitch, MacStitch, or equivalent diamond/cross-stitch charting software
• Proven experience with hand-rendered conversions (not auto-generated or lightly edited work)
• Deep understanding of:

Color theory

Value and contrast

Light and shadow translation

Blending techniques (including checkerboarding)
• Ability to maintain detail without over-simplifying or muddying the image
• Strong attention to symbol clarity and readability at production scale

Portfolio Requirements (Required to Apply)

You must provide:
• Examples of completed diamond painting or cross-stitch conversions
• Side-by-side comparisons of original artwork vs. your render
• Close-up detail shots of your work (zoomed sections)

Submissions without conversion work will not be considered.

General illustration portfolios alone will not be considered.

Bonus Qualifications
• Previous work with diamond painting companies or cross-stitch publishers
• Experience working with licensed artwork
• Familiarity with DMC color systems and limitations in physical production

Compensation
• Competitive, per-render or contract-based (based on experience and quality)
• Ongoing work available for the right artist

Art Test Requirement

A short art test will be required for most applicants.

This test is designed to evaluate your ability to translate artwork into a clean, high-quality diamond painting render with proper color, depth, and readability.

Applicants with proven experience working for established diamond painting or cross-stitch companies may be exempt at our discretion.

This is diamond painting elevated.

We are building something different, and we are only bringing on artists who can meet that standard.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
