As a member of the GIS team, the Senior GIS Analyst will play a key role in developing, converting, and validating spatial data related to real estate agreements along a rail right-of-way (ROW). This position focuses on georeferencing, digitizing, and interpreting complex documents into accurate, digital GIS datasets. The candidate should have significant experience working with the ArcGIS platform developing and maintaining geospatial data, maps and map layers.

This pivotal role focuses on the modernization of real estate and Right-of-Way (ROW) records by converting complex legal documents, as-built drawings, and historical agreements into high-accuracy enterprise GIS datasets. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert, bridging the gap between historical land records and modern geospatial technology to ensure the integrity of the rail corridor's digital twin. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys the "detective work" of interpreting legal descriptions and technical drawings to build a foundation for critical infrastructure management.

responsibilities:

Data Conversion & Digitization: Georeference and digitize real estate agreements, deeds, and supporting engineering documents into the enterprise GIS environment.

Legal & Technical Interpretation: Analyze complex legal descriptions, land surveys, and as-built drawings to accurately map spatial boundaries and property rights.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Research and resolve spatial discrepancies by coordinating with internal real estate, legal, and engineering departments.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

Georeferencing and digitizing real estate agreements and supporting documents into enterprise GIS systems

Interpreting legal descriptions, maps, and design and/or as built drawings to create accurate GIS features.

Completing quality control, spatial validation, and attribute review to ensure data accuracy and consistency

Researching/resolving spatial discrepancies by coordinating with internal stakeholders

Creating metadata, documentation, and linkages between GIS features and source records

Specialized Skills: Demonstrated ability to interpret land records, legal descriptions, and design/as-built drawings.

Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in railroad, utility, or large-scale infrastructure Right-of-Way (ROW) management is strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Planning, or a related with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Advanced working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 10.x, ArcGIS Pro 3.x and extensions,

Ability to work independently and on multiple projects concurrently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
