- Job Description:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL databases
- Implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data
- Implement and manage user access and roles to ensure compliance with security policies
- Work with development teams to design and implement database solutions that support application requirements
- Collaborate with IT teams in managing database changes and upgrades
- Set up and utilize monitoring tools to track database performance and address bottlenecks
- Generate reports on system performance, availability, and other relevant metrics
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including patching and updates for both MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for database architecture and software tools.
- Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in database administration, specifically with MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL
- Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and replication strategies
- Proficiency in Oracle database management, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard
- Experience with MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL deployment and management tools
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and best practices
- Knowledge of agility tools such as Version1
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Experience with Datadog monitoring
- Cloud-based database administration experience with Azure or Amazon AWS
- Familiarity with ITIL practices
- Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting.
