CVS Media Exchange [CMX] – now part of the arenaflex family – is dedicated to driving measurable results for our providers, merchants, stores, general managers, brand sponsors, and agencies. Our full-channel advertising solutions leverage arenaflex's physical and digital presence, extensive reach, and comprehensive data capabilities to deliver quantifiable outcomes for our customers.

Position Overview: Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our growing analytics team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and applying advanced statistical predictive models, conducting complex data analyses, and translating insights into actionable business recommendations. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand their challenges and deliver data-driven solutions that drive adoption, engagement, retention, and conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development: Create and implement algorithms and statistical predictive models, determining optimal analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes


• Data Analysis: Perform investigations of structured and unstructured data to solve diverse and complex business problems using advanced statistical techniques, mathematical analyses, and deep knowledge of the organization and industry


• Business Partnership: Collaborate with colleagues to understand their challenges and goals, develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports, and performance metrics that drive business decisions


• Insight Communication: Create and participate in presentations and meetings with existing and prospective constituents to communicate analysis results and recommended solutions effectively


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with internal and external partners and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization


• Problem Resolution: Utilize strong expertise in algorithms and predictive models to explore issues, identify patterns, and recommend solutions that address core business challenges


• Technical Analysis: Apply strong programming skills to analyze, compare, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms


• Customer Journey Analysis: Analyze customer journeys to identify opportunities that drive more adoption, engagement, maintenance, and conversion


• Personalization Development: Develop personalization capabilities using artificial intelligence to target specific audiences for relevant outreach


• Experimentation Design: Design online experiments (A/B testing), measure results, and optimize for maximum impact


• Causal Inference: Apply methodologies like causal inference and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to optimize tests where A/B testing isn't feasible or appropriate

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience Level: Minimum 3+ years of experience applying modern machine learning techniques to build predictive models for both classification and regression problems


• Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience using Python and SQL for data analysis and model development


• Communication Skills: 2+ years of experience extracting meaningful insights from analysis and interpreting results of complex models to present to business audiences, including technical, non-technical, and senior leadership stakeholders


• Data Preparation: 2+ years of experience preparing data for analysis, working with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, evaluating satisfaction and quality of data, and performing feature engineering


• Advanced Analytics: 2+ years of experience applying knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large datasets from various data sources


• Experimental Design: 2+ years of experience in experimental design and supervised/solo machine learning approaches

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing online experiments (A/B testing) in production environments


• Demonstrated strong ability to communicate technical concepts and recommendations to diverse stakeholders and colleagues


• Capacity to communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues, project teams, and senior management


• Ability to anticipate and prevent issues and detours before they occur, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills


• Proficiency in multiple areas of mathematical analysis techniques, machine learning, statistical analysis, experimental design, and predictive modeling, with deep specialization in certain areas


• Experience with causal inference methodologies and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)

Education Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline


• Preferred: Master's degree in a related discipline


• Highly Desired: PhD in a related discipline

Work Environment & Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, providing the flexibility to work remotely while also collaborating in-person with your team. The role is based in our New York City office, with the expectation that you will commute to the office 3 days per week on a rotating basis (every other week). This hybrid approach allows you to balance professional and personal priorities while maintaining meaningful in-person collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

The ordinary compensation range for this position is $106,605.00 - $206,000.00 per year. The actual base compensation offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for an arenaflex bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base compensation range listed above.
