Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Lead, Studio Data Management to join our Studio Business Affairs team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing data quality and governance for our content acquisition and distribution datasets. You will work closely with product teams, engineering partners, and business stakeholders to ensure that our deal data—spanning content licensing, talent agreements, and production partnerships—maintains the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work arrangements, making it ideal for professionals who prefer a hybrid or fully remote setup. You will be based in Alabama and will collaborate with cross-functional teams across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Lead at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end data lifecycle for our studio operations. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Strategic Data Leadership: Develop short-term and long-term strategies for deal data management across the studio, establishing data quality benchmarks and education initiatives. Create quarterly objectives aligned with business goals and lead the execution of strategic roadmap initiatives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary data expert for deal-related information across the studio. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and business partners to address complex data challenges and ensure alignment on data-related initiatives.
  • Metrics Development: Partner with product management and data engineering teams to define, create, analyze, and report on key performance indicators that provide visibility into various aspects of data quality. Establish dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track data health metrics.
  • Scalability Planning: Independently design and implement strategies to efficiently scale data quality operations as our content library and partnerships continue to grow.
  • Project Leadership: Lead data quality initiatives that support product development and improve underlying data infrastructure. Develop detailed project plans that identify business impact, timelines, risks, and execute on deliverables with precision.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage incoming partner requests and drive alignment when conflicting priorities arise. Ensure clear communication and expectation-setting with all stakeholders.
  • Customer Support: Serve as a resource for addressing data-related inquiries and support requests from internal users. Develop self-service resources to empower users to resolve common issues independently.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with business teams to design and implement more efficient processes, best practices for data management, and comprehensive documentation that drives organizational knowledge.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a comparable discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years working in data management with databases and/or content management systems. Experience in data governance, data quality, or data analytics roles is highly valued.
  • Analytical Capabilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information across complex ecosystems to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions. Comfortable working with large datasets and identifying patterns and anomalies.
  • Process Optimization: Solid understanding of workflow design with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements. Experience streamlining operations is a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: General understanding of the content lifecycle from pitch to production to distribution. Familiarity with how content deals are structured and executed.
  • Data Management Expertise: Knowledge of data lifecycle management and data governance concepts. Understanding of data quality frameworks and best practices.
  • Project Management: Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable presenting complex findings to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and resilient in a rapidly evolving environment. Willing to shift between deep-focus project work and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Google Suite and spreadsheet applications such as Excel and Airtable. Comfortable learning new tools and technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experiences would be highly advantageous:


  • Hands-on experience with SQL and database querying. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, and customer success teams in a data-driven organization.
  • Background in legal operations or studio operations, particularly in entertainment, media, or content production environments.
  • Experience working at a studio, distributor, film sales company, production company, talent agency, management firm, or other entertainment enterprise.
  • Understanding of content licensing agreements, talent contracts, and distribution deals.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of master data management (MDM) principles and practices.
