About the Role
We are looking for an experienced professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of building scalable data solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data pipeline development, from requirements gathering and architecture design to implementation and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality ETL/ELT data pipelines using modern data orchestration tools and frameworks
- Create and implement comprehensive database schemas, including tables, views, and complex mappings to support various analytical and operational needs
- Build and schedule batch processes using workflow automation platforms for multiple projects and initiatives
- Collaborate closely with Studios and Project Technology stakeholders to gather data requirements, validate data quality, and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Develop and execute ETL/ELT pipelines that transform data from diverse sources into clean, usable formats for analytics and reporting
- Design and implement database architectures that support high availability, performance, and scalability
- Coordinate deployment across multiple environments including Development, QA/UAT, and Production
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to establishing best practices for data engineering processes
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality benchmarks
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing data infrastructure
- Document technical designs, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and team onboarding
Technologies You'll Work With
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will leverage a comprehensive tech stack that includes industry-leading tools and platforms. Our data infrastructure relies on SQL and Python for data manipulation and transformation. We utilize cloud-based solutions primarily on AWS, with S3 for scalable object storage. Our data warehouse is built on Snowflake, offering exceptional performance for large-scale analytics. We use Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling, Docker for containerization, and GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, we work with PostgreSQL for relational database management and Looker for business intelligence and visualization.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Data Engineering role
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SQL and database design
- 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- At least 2 years of experience with S3 and cloud-based storage solutions
- 2 years of experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases
- Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
- Experience with GitLab/GitHub for source control and collaboration
- At least 2 years of experience with Docker containerization
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
- Proven experience designing and building relational databases
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced experience with Snowflake, including performance optimization and advanced features
- Experience with Looker for business intelligence and data visualization
- Knowledge of streaming data processing and real-time analytics
- Background in media, streaming services, or digital advertising industries
- Experience with Databricks for big data processing and machine learning workflows
- Familiarity with additional cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Strong understanding of data modeling best practices, including dimensional modeling and data vault techniques
