Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain our enterprise data infrastructure. In this role, you'll work with massive, complex datasets that power critical business decisions. You'll be responsible for creating robust data pipelines, implementing process improvements, and ensuring data reliability and quality across the organization.

This position offers a unique blend of technical challenges and strategic impact. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product managers, designers, and executive leadership to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that exceed expectations. Your expertise will help shape not just how we handle data today, but how we'll evolve our capabilities in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. Ensure pipelines are efficient, reliable, and scalable.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Build and optimize infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using AWS and SQL technologies. Leverage cloud-native services to maximize performance and cost-efficiency.

  • Process Improvement: Identify, plan, and implement process improvements including re-architecting infrastructure for greater scalability, enhancing data delivery mechanisms, and automating manual processes.

  • Analytics Tools Development: Create analytical tools that leverage data pipelines to provide valuable insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, designers, product managers, and executive teams to understand their data requirements and provide technical solutions.

  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and partners, helping them develop effective solutions and providing technical insights.

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and provide expertise to functional project teams, participating in cross-functional initiatives and guiding best practices in data engineering.

  • Innovation: Develop and adapt hardware and technology solutions to serve evolving business needs.

  • Problem Resolution: Handle complex issues requiring in-depth assessment of multiple factors, using independent judgment within broadly defined policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience in data engineering, big data development, or a similar technical role.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services and SQL technologies.
