What You'll Do

As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in architecting and building the data infrastructure that powers our entire content ecosystem. Your work will directly influence how we measure content performance, understand viewer engagement, and deliver the personalized experiences our users expect. You'll collaborate with talented professionals across data science, analytics, product management, and engineering teams to design, implement, and deliver robust data solutions that meet our rigorous standards.

Contribute to the design and development of our data products and data warehouses focused on Content Performance and Content Engagement metrics

Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)

Work with cutting-edge technologies including Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Spark, and Airflow

Architect data solutions and structures while defining data models for our enterprise data warehouse and data marts

Collaborate closely with Data Product Managers, Data Architects, and Data Analysts to design, execute, and deliver successful data solutions

Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance initiatives

Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and maintain commitment to our internal clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams)

Be an active member and promoter of agile/scrum practices to ensure health and process improvements for your team

Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and mentor junior team members

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in the Big Data space

What to Bring

We're seeking a candidate with a strong technical foundation and a genuine passion for working with data at scale. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in distributed computing systems and a proven track record of building robust data pipelines that handle massive volumes of data reliably and efficiently.

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries to extract data and build high-performance datasets

Hands-on experience with distributed systems such as Spark, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Presto, PySpark) to query and manage data at scale

Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)

Strong experience with data integration toolsets (such as Airflow) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines

Experience with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing standard methodologies and practices

Solid scripting skills, including Bash scripting and Python

Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies

Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2, Lambda)

Knowledge of streaming data processing frameworks (Kafka, Flink, Kinesis)

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

Experience in the streaming media or entertainment industry

Understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar)

Knowledge of machine learning workflows and how data engineering supports ML initiatives
