At Arenaflex, we're not just processing data – we're transforming lives through actionable insights that shape the future of healthcare delivery. We're currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our growing Healthcare Analytics division and help us drive meaningful change across the healthcare landscape.

As a pioneer in healthcare solutions, Arenaflex has been committed to improving the health and well-being of communities for decades. Our mission is to leverage cutting-edge technology and data-driven strategies to enhance patient care, optimize operational efficiency, and deliver measurable outcomes that matter. We believe that great data, when properly analyzed and presented, has the power to transform healthcare – and we're looking for someone who shares this vision to help us achieve it.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about using their analytical skills to make a real difference in healthcare. Whether you're based in Illinois or anywhere across the United States, this remote position offers the flexibility you need while providing the challenge and career growth opportunities you deserve.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst at Arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our IT information design and research teams to execute and maintain data infrastructure conditions that enable report automation for the Arenaflex Healthcare Quality Improvement program. This position is central to our Information and Insights commercialization initiative, working at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and healthcare analytics.

You will join a cross-functional team of data experts, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders, working together to deliver performance insights across Arenaflex Health. This is a hands-on technical role that requires both strategic thinking and the ability to dive deep into data complexities. You'll be responsible for guiding the delivery of Arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects and initiatives, supporting both long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet our reporting and analysis needs.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, requiring you to leverage your expertise in data management, analysis, and visualization. Here's what you can expect:

  • Lead Data Initiatives: Direct the delivery of Arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

  • ETL and Warehousing: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities to meet Arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements, maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines.

  • Database Development: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects across the organization.

  • Data Modeling: Create data staging and pre-processing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.

  • Data Integration: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal Arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.

  • Data Profiling: Perform data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets, including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS files.

  • Automation Development: Create internal tools for automation of all development-related activities, including data processing, QA, data validation, and other critical processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in data analytics, excellent technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. We're looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • SQL Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. You should be comfortable with complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.

  • Cloud Data Platforms: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Experience with at least one of these platforms is required.

  • BI Tool Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and vendor partners. You must be able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. Understanding of how data drives business value is essential.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.

  • Travel Availability: Able to travel up to at least 5% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

  • Data Management Certification: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data management certification.

  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Understanding of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts. Familiarity with healthcare data standards, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, NDC), and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.

  • Advanced Analytics Experience: Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning concepts, or statistical modeling in healthcare contexts.

  • Project Management Skills: Certification or experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, PMP).

Skills and Competencies

Beyond your technical qualifications, we value certain personal attributes that will help you thrive at Arenaflex:

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a knack for identifying patterns and trends in complex datasets.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Collaboration: Strong team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams and building relationships across the organization.

  • Initiative: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from inception to completion.

  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics and healthcare informatics.
