Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Telecom Network Specialist to join their fully remote operations team. This role is critical for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of our client's advanced network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our telecommunications networks, supporting a wide range of services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies commonly used in the telecom industry. You will troubleshoot complex network issues, optimize network performance, and contribute to network planning and upgrades. This position requires a self-motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage telecommunications network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability. Perform regular network health checks, capacity planning, and preventative maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues remotely, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against threats and unauthorized access. Configure and manage various network protocols and services (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VoIP, QoS). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects and initiatives. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in telecommunications technology and best practices. Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 network support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering and administration. In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), switching technologies, and MPLS. Experience with IP networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs. Familiarity with network security principles and tools. Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Self-starter with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
