What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Member Services Representative on our Payments and Digital Strategy team, you'll be responsible for a wide range of functions that keep our financial operations running smoothly. Your daily activities will include:
- Data Entry and Balancing: Complete accurate data entry and daily balancing functions to ensure financial records are precise and up-to-date.
- Check Processing: Process check transactions, including IRA checks, bankruptcy checks, payoff checks, and other specialized check types with meticulous attention to detail.
- Wire Transfer Operations: Obtain essential information from members for timely and accurate processing of international and domestic wire transfers. This includes researching and verifying incoming and outgoing wire transfer data, communicating with vendors to process transfers, and ensuring compliance with all applicable wire transfer laws and regulations.
- Deposit and Withdrawal Processing: Handle loan payments, multi-account deposits, credit card payments, and various other transactions while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
- Return Item Coordination: Coordinate return items with members, door vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other financial institutions to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Fraud Resolution Support: Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing to protect our members' assets.
- Remote Deposit and Mobile Banking: Review, analyze, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products to ensure seamless digital banking experiences.
- Account Management: Log, analyze, and make necessary GL (General Ledger), account changes and/or returns to maintain financial integrity.
- Stop Payments and Check Batching: Process Stop Pays and manage check batching operations with precision and efficiency.
- Daily Balancing and Closing: Complete daily balancing and department closing procedures to ensure all accounts are reconciled properly.
- International Collections and Legal Matters: Handle daily processing of workflows related to overdue returns, receipt delivery, foreign collections, and legal fees.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all accounts and related data. Your work must comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), NACHA regulations, and Federal Banking laws.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours as needed to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer or member service experience in a financial services environment
- Prior banking or Credit Union experience
- Familiarity with Episys/Symitar systems and wire processing
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

- Compliance Awareness: Must pass relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-hire compliance examinations and demonstrate a thorough understanding of banking regulations, including NACHA guidelines and the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Reliability: Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance, as reliability is critical in financial operations.
