The Opportunity
We're hiring a Remote Fire Alarm Estimator to help grow our alarm and detection business across the Puget Sound region. This is a technical estimating role focused on plan review, takeoffs, and proposal development. This position does not include sales responsibilities or commission.
- What You'll Do
- Perform detailed plan reviews, takeoffs, and scope development
- Prepare complete estimates including labor, materials, rentals, and subcontractors
- Support sales and operations teams with accurate and timely pricing
- Manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate scope and ensure alignment
Systems & Partners
Columbia Fire is an Edwards Strategic Partner, and Edwards is our primary fire alarm platform. We also support and install non-proprietary systems including Potter, Fire-Lite, and Silent Knight, allowing us to match the right solution to each project and customer.
- What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in fire alarm systems (sales, estimating, installation, or project management)
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, layouts, and components
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and local jurisdiction requirements
- Strong communication skills — comfortable in both field and office settings
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; CRM and estimating software experience preferred
- Preferred
- NICET certification (Level II or higher)
- Washington 06 Limited Energy or 01 Electrical license
- Experience with system programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with Edwards, Potter, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, or similar systems
