Sterling Engineering is seeking a skilled Data Center Service Technician with hands-on experience supporting Power Distribution Unit (PDU) systems in data center environments. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability of power distribution equipment that supports critical server infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PDU systems and associated low- to medium-voltage electrical equipment
- Respond to critical service calls in an on-call capacity, ensuring rapid resolution of power-related issues
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) checks on PDU systems and supporting infrastructure
- Monitor and verify proper electrical load distribution to prevent overload conditions
- Collaborate with data center personnel to ensure safe and compliant system operation
- Document service activities, findings, and corrective actions
- Maintain adherence to all safety standards and data center protocols
Skills
- Hands-on experience with PDU systems (Power Distribution Units)
- Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in time-sensitive situations
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Prior experience working in data center environments (strongly preferred)
