About This Role: Remote Tax Software Support Specialist
As a Customer Support Representative with arenaflex, you'll play a vital role in helping taxpayers successfully navigate our client's tax preparation software. This position involves providing exceptional support through phone, chat, and video chat channels, ensuring that customers can complete their tax returns accurately and with confidence.
Your primary responsibilities will include guiding users through software navigation, assisting with locating and retrieving previous tax returns, and supporting customers who need to file amendments to their prior-year returns. You'll be the friendly voice (or text) that turns frustration into relief when someone successfully files their taxes or resolves a confusing error message.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, chat, and video chat with professionalism and empathy
- Guide customers through the tax software interface, explaining features and functionality in clear, simple terms
- Assist customers with locating and accessing previous tax returns and amendments
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide step-by-step solutions to software-related problems

Schedule Details
This is a seasonal contract position running through April 15th, aligning with the U.S. tax filing deadline. We offer truly flexible scheduling—you create your own hours! Available working hours span from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM CST, seven days a week, including both weekday and weekend options. Whether you prefer early morning shifts, late-night sessions, or weekend work, you have the freedom to build a schedule that fits your lifestyle.
Compensation & Earnings Potential

- Base Rate: Earn up to $19 per hour depending on performance and tenure
- Peak Season Bonuses: During the high-demand tax season (January through April), contractors who meet or exceed key metrics typically earn between $16-$19 per hour
- Off-Peak Rates: During non-peak times, qualified contractors earn between $15.60-$17.50 per hour

- Webcam (a webcam will be provided on loan for the duration of your contract)

Eligibility & Important Information
Geographic Requirements: Contractors must reside in and work from the United States. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept applications from residents of California, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Background Check: All candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check as part of the hiring process.
Contractual Relationship: This position is offered as an independent contractor opportunity. The relationship between you and arenaflex is a contractual one. As an independent contractor, you will not be considered an employee for tax purposes, and arenaflex will not withhold taxes from your earnings. You will receive a contract outlining the terms of your engagement, and by accepting the contract, you acknowledge that you have no claim against arenaflex for vacation pay, sick leave, retirement benefits, Social Security, workers' compensation, health or disability benefits, overtime, unemployment insurance benefits, or any employee benefits of any kind.
