Position Summary: Be the Voice of Safety
We're currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Remote Alarm Monitoring & Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic monitoring team. In this critical role, you'll serve as the first line of response when alarms are triggered, working diligently to verify, respond to, and dispatch appropriate emergency services. You'll be the calm in the storm, the professional voice that guides worried customers through potentially terrifying situations.
This is a remote position that offers the flexibility of working from home while still receiving comprehensive training to set you up for success. Our classroom and on-the-job training will be conducted onsite at our state-of-the-art facility, where you'll learn the intricacies of our systems, processes, and protocols before transitioning to your home office.
As a Monitoring Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission. You'll handle incoming calls, respond to alarm activities, dispatch emergency responders, and provide exceptional customer service—all while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. This position requires someone who can think quickly on their feet, communicate clearly under pressure, and always keep the safety of our customers as their top priority.
Key Responsibilities: What You'll Do Every Day
As an essential member of our monitoring team, you'll be responsible for a variety of duties that keep our customers safe and our operations running smoothly:
- Emergency Response Coordination: Verify, respond to, and dispatch emergency signals to appropriate police, fire, or medical agencies. You'll be the critical link between triggered alarms and first responders, ensuring help arrives as quickly as possible.
- Incoming Call Management: Answer incoming calls professionally and efficiently, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and alarm notifications with empathy and expertise.
- Alarm Verification: Master the different types of alarm signals and their corresponding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Your thorough understanding will ensure accurate dispatching and minimize false alarms.
- Customer Notification: Notify customers of non-emergency signals and provide them with clear information about their account status and any required actions.
- Responder Coordination: After dispatching emergency services, notify responders and provide them with essential information to ensure efficient on-site assistance.
- Account Management: Process basic data changes to customer accounts, maintaining accurate records and ensuring customer information remains current.
- TTY/TDD Handling: Manage signals from TTY (Teletypewriter) stations to ensure accessibility for all customers, including those with hearing or speech impairments.
- Compliance & Training: Maintain licensure as required by states with mandatory requirements. Stay current on company policies, central station procedures, and organizational goals.
- Performance Standards: Meet or exceed minimum productivity and quality standards (90% or better average on Quality Assurance) set for Level I operators.
- Flexibility: Work weekend, holiday, and shift schedules as required, including mandatory overtime during high-volume periods or emergencies.
Essential Qualifications: What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- One to three months of related experience preferred, OR
- Related training or certification is a plus
Knowledge Requirements
- Solid understanding of computer operations and Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with Internet navigation and basic software usage
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices
- Basic understanding of VIP accounts and department operations
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with personal computers, keyboards, and standard office equipment (fax machine, copy machine, telephone systems)
- Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy
- Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously

Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you'll need to:
- Sit for extended periods while monitoring systems and answering calls
- Occasionally stand, walk, twist, and use hands to handle various equipment
- Reach with hands and arms as needed for equipment and documents
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus for monitoring screens and documentation
Work Environment: This is primarily a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home office. However, initial classroom and on-the-job training will be conducted onsite at our training facility. Once trained, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely while staying connected to our team through advanced communication and monitoring systems.
