Position Overview
As a Ramp Agent at arenaflex, you will be an integral member of our Ground Operations team, working outdoors to support aircraft turnaround operations. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability and efficiency. You will be responsible for handling baggage, cargo, guiding aircraft, performing aircraft cleaning duties, and ensuring all ground operations run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
As a Ramp Agent, your duties will encompass a wide range of ground operations tasks, all focused on ensuring safe, efficient, and timely aircraft turnarounds. Here's what you can expect:
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide friendly, professional support to all internal and external customers. Maintain positive relationships with passengers, crew members, and ground operations staff. Address customer inquiries and concerns with a service-oriented mindset.
- Baggage and Cargo Handling: Receive, record, and process passenger baggage, air cargo, mail, and company materials. Load, unload, service, guide, and direct aircraft according to established procedures. Ensure all items are properly sorted, labeled, and routed to their correct destinations.
- Aircraft Loading Operations: Handle all aspects of loading, stowing, and unloading baggage, cargo, mail, and company materials according to predetermined plans. Prepare and submit Freight Container Loading Slips (CBLS) accurately and timely. Follow weight and balance guidelines to ensure safe aircraft loading.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and drive various ground support equipment including belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, pushback tugs, baggage carts, lavatory trucks, and de-icing equipment. Perform daily pre-operation inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Aircraft Cleaning: Perform interior cabin cleaning tasks manually, including vacuuming upholstery, cleaning windows, galleys, and waste containers. Ensure the cabin is ready for the next flight in accordance with cleanliness standards.
- Lavatory and galley Services: Clean and service aircraft lavatories, operate lavatory service trucks, and properly dispose of waste contents according to established procedures and environmental regulations.
- Provisioning Support: May perform duties of a Provisioning Specialist, including loading aircraft cabin interiors with equipment and supplies such as literature, waste containers, and grocery items according to applicable documentation. Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
- Cargo Warehouse Operations: Work in warehouse facilities to receive, weigh, stack, and deliver air freight. Check air freight against accompanying documentation to identify any misuse or discrepancies and correct routine errors immediately.
- Protection of Customer Property: Safeguard customers' baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials (COMAT) from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction. Follow security protocols and maintain awareness of valuable or sensitive shipments.
- Jetway Operations: Regularly use jetway stairs to convey items checked at the door to the aircraft cargo hold. Ensure safe handling practices during all door-to-cargo operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete all required forms and documentation associated with job responsibilities according to established procedures. Enter accurate information into the company's data systems as required.
- Safety Awareness: Be aware of moving vehicles and aircraft at all times. Use radio equipment to communicate with team members and supervisors. Report any safety hazards or emergency situations immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other Ground Operations teams to meet flight takeoff schedules. Support fellow team members and contribute to overall station operations success.
- Environmental Exposure: Work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Be exposed to engine noise, exhaust, dust, and debris for extended periods.
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry for extended periods. Ability to lift baggage and cargo weighing up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout shift. Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Availability: Must be available to work part-time shifts (approximately 8 hours), including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible availability is highly preferred.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for data entry and system navigation. Ability to learn and operate various ground support equipment.
- Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must pass background check and drug screening.
