Position Overview: Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Internship

Arenaflex is seeking a motivated and talented student to join our Quality Control Strategies and Standards team as a Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Intern for Summer 2024. This is a 12-week paid internship program running from May 21, 2024, to August 9, 2024, based at our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX. This role offers an exceptional chance to gain practical experience in data analysis, quality control, and business intelligence while contributing meaningfully to our organization's success.

As an integral member of our Quality Control team, you will play a crucial role in driving our culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation. You will be responsible for identifying statistical trends and performance metrics that will help improve our quality control division. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Standards Data Analyst Intern at arenaflex, you can expect to be challenged, engaged, and inspired every single day. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Data Collection and Validation: Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team with optimal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on critical data elements. You'll learn to ensure data integrity and accuracy, which are foundational to informed decision-making.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Assist with creating and delivering results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders. You'll develop the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights that drive business value.
  • Ad Hoc Research and Response: Help with investigating critical ad hoc requests arising from emerging maintenance issues and provide analytical support to enable senior leadership to make informed business decisions while balancing existing project responsibilities.
  • Data Visualization and Presentation: Present insights, trends, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools that support the relevant aspects of the analysis, facilitating stakeholder understanding and engagement.
  • Query Development: Assist with developing and distributing specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, establishing rhythm and validating the necessity of data requirements.
  • Process Audit and Improvement: Identify process anomalies through reviews and audits, and communicate findings to the team. You'll be instrumental in identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Effectiveness Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and methods by monitoring for trends and discrepancies, ensuring continuous improvement in all operational aspects.
  • Compliance Focus: Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the center of every decision, recognizing that adherence to standards is non-negotiable in our industry.
  • Additional Duties: May perform other work responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader, providing flexibility and exposure to various aspects of the Quality Control function.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications:


  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply, though degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related fields are preferred.
  • Availability: Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the entire 12-week internship period from May 21 to August 9, 2024.
  • Location: Must be able to work on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX. While workplace flexibility for approximately half of the time may be available, students are expected to be on-site for team-related events and collaborative sessions.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  • Analytical Abilities: Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret significant amounts of information with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to listen, understand, and convey ideas effectively in writing, verbally, or through presentations delivered to audiences of varying backgrounds and expertise levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to understand problems, summarize findings, perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a strong team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous internship, capstone projects, or research coursework in a related field is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, or QuickBase.

  • Experience with PowerPoint for building presentations for verbal communications.

  • Understanding of business issues and the ability to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.

  • Experience managing or supporting large business initiatives.
