Position Overview
Are you ready to take your DevOps career to the next level? arenaflex is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Engineer to lead our DevOps Data Platform initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to drive organizational transformation by developing DevOps tooling, practices, and culture across the enterprise. As a Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will serve as a technical expert and individual contributor responsible for shaping the future of our infrastructure and deployment processes.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the adoption of best practices across the organization, focusing on observability, scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization. Key Responsibilities
As a Principal DevOps Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for leading and executing the following key responsibilities:
- Lead DevOps Strategy: Develop and drive the overall DevOps strategy, covering the design, development of tools, practices, and cultural transformation initiatives across the organization.
- Establish Best Practices: Define and implement DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment frameworks that ensure consistency and reliability.
- Infrastructure as Code: Architect and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar solutions to provision and manage resources efficiently across cloud environments.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms to ensure fast and reliable application delivery.
- Security and Compliance Collaboration: Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that development teams adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, particularly in the healthcare sector.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and processes, identifying areas for improvement, innovation, and automation to enhance release consistency and accuracy.
- Technology Research and Recommendations: Stay current with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, and make strategic recommendations for their adoption within arenaflex's DevOps ecosystem.
- Mentorship and Team Development: Coach and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this Principal DevOps Engineer position at arenaflex, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Cloud Environment Experience: Demonstrated experience working in public cloud environments, with preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Containerization Technologies: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications at scale.
- Infrastructure as Code Expertise: Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools, including Terraform and Ansible, for automating resource provisioning and configuration management.
- CI/CD Pipeline Experience: Active involvement in CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI, along with experience using version control systems like Git for source code management.
- Scripting and Automation Skills: Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar programming languages to automate repetitive tasks and build efficient workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
