Position Overview: High School Math Tutor

As a High School Math Tutor at arenaflex, you will be responsible for delivering personalized mathematics instruction to high school students in the Chattanooga area. Your primary focus will be on helping students master high school-level mathematical concepts, including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. You will also support students with homework preparation, test preparation, and general academic reinforcement.

This part-time position offers flexible scheduling opportunities, allowing you to balance your tutoring commitments with other professional or personal responsibilities. You will work directly with students and their families to identify learning gaps, develop customized lesson plans, and track academic progress over time.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued member of the arenaflex tutoring team, you will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities with professionalism and dedication:

• Personalized Instruction: Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's unique learning style, academic level, and specific needs. Adapt teaching methods to ensure optimal comprehension and retention of mathematical concepts.


• Session Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed session reports for our office and families within twenty-four hours of each tutoring session. Maintain accurate records of student progress, topics covered, and areas requiring additional focus.


• Time Management: Effectively balance tutoring hours allocated for each assigned student, ensuring consistent and productive sessions that maximize learning outcomes.


• Customized Lesson Planning: Develop comprehensive lesson plans for each tutoring session that align with the student's curriculum and academic goals. Prepare all necessary materials and resources in advance.


• Student Assessment: Continuously evaluate student progress through informal assessments, homework reviews, and constructive feedback. Identify areas of improvement and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.


• Communication: Professionally address client concerns, questions, and requests in a timely manner. Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and upcoming sessions.


• Enrollment Management: Proactively follow up with the arenaflex office when a student's enrollment package is running low on hours, ensuring uninterrupted academic support.


• Professional Development: Stay current with educational best practices, teaching methodologies, and developments in mathematics curriculum. Participate in ongoing training opportunities provided by arenaflex.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Educational Background: Minimum of an associate's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.


• Teaching Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in the education field, preferably in a tutoring, teaching, or instructional capacity.
