Position Overview

As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be responsible for accurate information entry, patient enrollment, and resolution of third-party exceptions. Working under direct supervision, you will adhere to regulatory working techniques and perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role involves using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and medication information, with responsibilities that may vary based on assigned division.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, possess excellent attention to detail, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive patient information. Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Using arenaflex prescription data entry procedures and guidelines, process new patient enrollments by accurately entering data into the appropriate system. Ensure all information is captured correctly to facilitate seamless patient care.
  • Medication Request Management: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing. Demonstrate thoroughness and accuracy in all aspects of prescription handling to ensure patient safety.
  • Research & Interpretation: Investigate to obtain missing prescription information and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes). Your ability to decode medical terminology will be essential in ensuring accurate prescription processing.
  • Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions efficiently and effectively. Identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement appropriate solutions to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Patient Communication: Handle communications with patients via inbound calls, chats, and messages. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, providing clear and helpful information. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues or gather additional information.
  • Third-Party Exception Management: Resolve third-party exceptions by evaluating, collecting information, making necessary revisions, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to back-up prescribers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve exceptions.
  • Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those at other locations. Serve as a reliable resource for pharmacy operations and collaborate effectively with the broader healthcare team.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate. Demonstrate good judgment in recognizing when escalation is necessary to protect patient safety or operational efficiency.
  • Licensure Requirements: Must obtain active technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active technician license or certification throughout employment.

Essential Qualifications

Technical Skills



  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including the ability to start up and shut down computers, use mouse functions, start and close programs, switch between applications, save documents, print reports, and access information online.

  • Proficiency with web browsers, including opening a browser, typing URLs correctly, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.

  • Intermediate keyboarding skills (minimum 25 WPM) with the ability to type from memory and format documents professionally.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and professionally in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications


  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.

  • Minimum 18 months of pharmacy technician experience with current certification/registration as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluating customer satisfaction.

  • Moderate to advanced keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM) with the ability to type from memory and format documents efficiently.

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.

  • Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and electronic health records.

  • Familiarity with insurance claims processing and understanding of pharmacy billing procedures.
