What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our airport operations team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring safety, security, and operational efficiency. Here are the essential functions of this role:
- Greet and Welcome Customers: Provide warm, professional greetings to customers as they enter the airport terminal or arrive at the ticket counter area, setting the tone for their entire travel experience.
- Monitor Safety and Compliance: Oversee the ticket counter area to ensure full compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support Self-Service Operations: Assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and baggage processing, including printing boarding passes, receipts, and baggage tags.
- Maintain Kiosk Equipment: Service and maintain kiosk machines by loading paper, cleaning surfaces, and performing routine upkeep to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Diagnose and resolve kiosk technology issues to identify the source of problems or errors, providing immediate solutions when possible.
- Escalate Complex Issues: Communicate with IT support teams regarding kiosk technology issues that require additional servicing or specialized attention.
- Enforce Carry-On Policies: Verify that customers' carry-on baggage complies with FAA and arenaflex policies, including size restrictions and quantity limits.
- Verify Travel Documents: Verify and clear travel documents such as passports and visas for customers traveling internationally, utilizing resources like the Timatic database available in the kiosk system.
- Process Checked Baggage: Assist customers with checked baggage processing, including completing credit card transactions, self-tagging, and verifying weight compliance.
- Manage Queue Lines: Organize and queue lines in ticket counter areas based on departure times or type of assistance needed, including special assistance requests to reduce wait times and improve efficiency.
- Activate Self-Tagged Baggage: Accept and activate customers' self-tagged baggage at the designated activation station.
- Handle Baggage Movement: Physically move baggage throughout the ticket counter area, including moving checked baggage to conveyor belts and relocating oversized bags to designated areas.
- Process Oversized Items: Assist customers with checking assistive devices, sporting equipment, and other oversized items while verifying adherence to appropriate policies.
- Coordinate with Customer Service Agents: Refer customers to customer service agents when issues require escalation or specialized assistance.
- Document Clearance at Kiosks: Perform clearance and verification of documents at kiosk stations with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist Non-Ambulatory Customers: Assist with the physical movement of non-ambulatory customers as they board, deplane, or move throughout the gate and terminal area.
- Support Unaccompanied Minors: Assist unaccompanied minors with boarding, deplaning, and other transportation needs, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Provide Gate Information: Offer customers accurate gate information, directions, and helpful guidance throughout the terminal.
- Perform Paging Activities: Execute paging activities to announce forgotten items, request customers to return to locked bags, or make other necessary announcements as required by specific airport locations.
- Maintain Operational Flexibility: Perform additional related duties as deemed operationally necessary by management, consistent with organizational policies and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Adhere to Scheduling Requirements: Report to position on time, as scheduled, and at your assigned station or location, including mandatory overtime requirements, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete Required Training: Successfully complete all job-relevant training programs to maintain proficiency and compliance.
- Follow Government Regulations: Adhere to all government regulations including those set forth by the DOT, FAA, and TSA.
- Meet Performance Standards: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards at all times.
- Maintain Professional Appearance: Wear uniforms as required by company policy, representing arenaflex with professionalism and pride.
- Deliver Quality Service: Provide quality customer service in a professional manner in accordance with arenaflex guidelines, using multiple internal resources and systems during customer interactions.

What You'll Need for Success: Minimum Qualifications
To excel in this role, you'll need the following education, experience, and credentials:
- Education: High School diploma, GED, or international equivalent is required.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Language Skills: Must read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language. Bilingual language skills may be required at certain locations.
- Valid Credentials: Applicable valid driver's license as required by local authorities.
- Background Screening: Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting to satisfy company and security requirements.
- Security Clearance: Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable to the assigned location.
- Airport Badges: Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable to the assigned location.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
