About the Role

As a Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will serve as a key analytics partner to cross-functional teams throughout the Music Group business units. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold information improvement, quantitative analysis, and provide actionable insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making across our music marketing, discovery, and application channels.

You will become an integral member of our Data and Analytics team, contributing to the development of sophisticated analysis frameworks and tools that enable a deep understanding of customer behaviors. This role offers the chance to work with massive datasets, apply advanced analytical techniques, and translate complex findings into clear, compelling data-driven narratives that resonate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities


  • Data Acquisition and Management: Gather, organize, cleanse, and control modern, large-scale, high-dimensional data from various unique sources using advanced tools like PySpark and optimized SQL queries. You will be responsible for maintaining data integrity and ensuring efficient data pipelines.

  • Automated Analytics Development: Construct automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis solutions using contemporary big data frameworks within our data ecosystems, including platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Google Big Query.

  • Advanced Statistical Analysis: Apply refined analytical techniques including data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and uncover growth opportunities within consumer and behavioral datasets.

  • Strategic Campaign Analysis: Lead comprehensive campaign, product, content, and audience analysis for organizational needs. Develop and maintain key performance metrics to measure success and provide regular reporting on strategic initiatives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to complete data-driven projects, contributing to solution discovery, design, development, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Insight Communication: Translate complex analytical findings into compact, compelling, data-driven stories and socialize insights broadly with audiences across all organizational levels and functional areas.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Essential Qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in an analytical field including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related quantitative disciplines.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of analytical experience or equivalent combination of education and practical experience in data analysis or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, with the ability to apply appropriate methods to various business questions.

  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in scripting tools such as PySpark, Python, R, and advanced SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Visualization Abilities: Strong command of data analysis and visualization tools to create intuitive dashboards and reports that drive decision-making.

  • Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from complex datasets.

  • Experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions for analytical projects.

  • Proficiency in data mining within distributed systems like Databricks, Google Big Query, or Snowflake.

  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate large, transaction-level datasets and interpret data trends from multiple disparate data sources.

  • Passion for music and/or media industry data – an understanding of how music consumption patterns work is highly valued.

  • Knowledge of music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music), social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook/Instagram), and emerging technologies (digital assistants/voice search).

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
