About the Role:
As the Manager, Business Intelligence and Research, you will play a key role within the Corporate Marketing team, specifically supporting the Research function. In this position, you will harness a wide range of data sources and platforms to deliver insightful analysis, reporting and presentations that inform decision-making across the organization.
Your work will involve interpreting and synthesizing complex datasets-including consumer behavior, demographics, mobile device analytics, geographic trends, economic indicators and industry benchmarks-to craft compelling narratives that support cross-functional stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the department's Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities, including the creation of maps and demographic reports. Leveraging your marketing acumen, you will pair visual data with strategic storytelling to deliver high-impact insights. Success in this role requires innovative thinking, strong analytical capabilities and the ability to transform data into actionable, visually engaging and audience-tailored presentations.

What You Will Do:
Use location intelligence data and GIS tools to develop a strong story for use by Macerich's sales teams to sell shopping center locations, out-of-home media and experiential marketing opportunities
Translate data and analytics into actionable recommendations by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources such as demographic reporting, mapping and analysis, nationwide geographic and market Intelligence, shopper profiles, competition tracking, industry insights and traffic reporting and analysis.
Manage and maintain the department's GIS platform using ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Business Analyst. Build and run standard and custom demographic or analytical reports; create custom maps and aerials.
Serve as an internal research consultant by addressing key business questions, ensuring data accuracy and presenting findings in a clear, digestible and actionable format.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and identify strategic use cases for data across the organization.
Provide information to educate and inform the company around sales, traffic and economic topics.
Monitor center traffic using vendor-sourced and internal property data, and generate monthly insight reports.
Develop shopper profiles by combining survey data, demographic insights, and behavioral trends to drive targeted marketing and sales strategies.
Maintain a regularly updated library of reports and materials for company-wide access.
Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus on meeting deadlines and achieving high-impact outcomes.

What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, or a relevant business field (Marketing, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Management, Economics).
3-5 years in business analytics, with proficiency in research methodologies. Knowledge of shopping centers, commercial real estate, or retail industry is a plus.
Strong analytical, presentation, relationship-building, and project management skills.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Proficiency in large data analytics and location-based datasets.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a plus
